Great hotel. Walked from the railway station about a mile away as straight safe road to the beach with good footpaths. Great buffet breakfast and helpfully staff. Fully recommend

Such a friendly hotel with all you need for a true Italian seaside holiday. The hotel is stylish, spotlessly clean and the breakfast has a perfect selection to fill you up for the day, including mimosa making ingredients to make it a little extra special. The hotel provides beach towels and also works with a local beach club across the road, ask reception for more details. Perfectly located to make full use of the promenade of Viareggio and within easy walking distant of the train station which you can hop on a train to visit Pisa, Florence or Luca with ease. Would happily return if we were ever to visit Viareggio again, which I am sure we will as we loved it!!

Enjoyed our 4 night stay and 1st visit to this area, 10 - 15 minute walk down from the train station (literally walk down any street you see opposite the station and you hit the promenade close to the hotel). We unfortunately had booked a room on the 1st floor with a huge window overlooking the promenade but no balcony, asked to upgrade but no balconies available - still an amazing view though. Hotel is absolutely spotless everywhere and the position is excellent, good air con in the room, lovely bar to sit in and enjoy an evening drink. ******* were that there was no courtesy room available to shower on the last day nor were we able to keep the room longer than an extra half hour, we had to change and freshen up for the airport in the small toilet that is situated off the dining room which wasn’t great. Breakfast was very slow if ordering off the Al a Carte, and because there were tour groups booked in who ate breakfast together in groups of 10-20, the kitchen and front of house struggled to cope at busy times. On 2 days we were allocated a corner area of the restaurant near the buffet to sit in rather than being able to sit in the window where we preferred - the tour groups were given the better tables / treatment. Free Prosecco at breakfast though was a plus 🥂. Some music in the bar would have created some atmosphere - could hear a pin drop at times 🎶 All staff were very professional and friendly and we tried 3 beach clubs opposite the hotel - Irene (amazing sea food), Milano (the cheapest) and Vespucci (has a swimming pool). It was no cheaper to book the beach clubs via the hotel and we found that paying direct at the beach clubs gave better options, for example, at Milano you could opt to have no umbrella and pay less. The hotel provided us with beach towels each day at no extra charge. We visited the public beach across from the hotel also which is free but no option to book beds. Loved the Marina and the seafood street food places (5 -10 mins walk), Sa Player restaurant was our favourite (5 mins walk towards the Marina), the back streets were full of patisseries selling the amazing cakes and pastries at half the price of the promenade cafes/restaurants - also loads of shops on the backstreets and a fish market that I believe cooks outside for you at weekends but we missed this 😢. A street market was set up on the promenade across from the hotel on Thursday morning and went on for miles. 15 minutes on the train to Pisa and 25 minutes to Lucca so handy spot to explore from. Plenty to do here, will definitely return one day 🇮🇹

Staff were amicable and friendly. Breakfast was great lots of choices. Only complaint was the air conditioning was inefficient. Also dinner in the hotel was not available for single booking only for group tours

Excellent staff very good breakfast and service at the bar were all first class. Across the road from the beach and some good restaurants within walking distance. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and may well return one day

Fantastic hotel in stunning Viareggio, right in the middle of their beautiful promenade. Just round the corner from the station which made it so easy to explore Florence, Pisa (stunning basilica) and, have to say our favourite, Lucca (quieter and stunning San Marco). Marcello led the most terrific reception team that helped in every way and always with a presidential smile (ok getting carried away but I am writing this 4 days after we returned and am still wishing we were back there). Laila and Elena were so friendly on reception. Free deckchairs at beach across the road available. Elisa seemed to anticipate every need in the ristorante ( wonderful morning coffees served virtually as we sat down for fresh croissants each day) accompanied by the most professional Franco. Elisa! Absolute star. Rooms immaculate, sheets and towels fresh each day. Dinner was four courses…eeek…with home made pasta, fresh fish and whopping amounts of tiramisu. The kitchen cared. Great location, nice rooms, nice breakfast. Balcony view of the beach is priceless. Beach clubs right across the street. Nice restaurants along the beachside walkway. Very spacious. An hour train ride to Cinque Terra. I knew nothing about this town or hotel - it’s now high on my list to return. Highly recommended.
