Don Giulio Luxury Rooms Jacuzzi

We can highly recommend the Don Giulio Luxury Rooms as a place to stay to explore the Amalfi Coast. It is located in Vico Equense, which is about a 15 minute train ride to Sorrento, about 30 mins on the train to the ruins of Pompeii, and about an hour to Naples. Vico Equense is a charming coastal town perched on the Sorrentine Peninsula, overlooking Mt Versuvius and the bay of Naples. The rooms are a short 5 minute walk from the train station. There are many restaurants within a few minutes walk. A lovely breakfast is included, provided by a local cafe. The host, Paolo was very warm and welcoming, and could not be more accommodating. The rooms themselves are very clean, comfortable, roomy and tastefully decorated. We really could not fault them in any way. If we ever come back to the Amalfi Coast, we would definitely stay here again.

When we arrived at the property, the owner's son was there to meet us and he provided codes for the main door, the lift and the apartment door. From then on it was easy to access the property when coming and going. The property was very easy to find and was nicely lit. The area felt very safe and vibrant. The property was situated on the top floor of the building. It was easy to get to as the stairs were clean and well-maintained. If you have mobility issues (or have heavy cases), there is a lift leading directly to the property (accessible with a code). Very convenient. The apartment itself was STUNNING!!! Very clean and super-spacious (HUGE living room/dining area with a sofa too), with all the amenities needed (dishwasher, washing machine, clothes airer, decent hairdryer, comfy beds). Both rooms has ample storage and coat hangers plus drawer units for clothes. The room is serviced every day to an exceptional standard. The air conditioning in the apartment was FANTASTIC!!! Vico Equense was especially hot when we arrived (from Scotland, so we are not accustomed to the heat) and it was very pleasant to be able to cool down after a day sightseeing. Each room has it's own air-con 'sector' so you can set it as you want. The private, outdoor space was a lovely haven to relax in. We could eat outside on the table and chairs or relax on the sun loungers, which was great. The communal outdoor areas were great too. There is a jacuzzi that can be booked by writing your name on a whiteboard and there is also a soft seating area to relax in. Again, perfect after a day on your feet. There is no pool onsite, but Paola, your host, who is very pleasant to deal with and super-responsive to any queries you may have (thank you!!!!), has another property further up in the hills and you can spend a relaxing day there, like we did. The view is simply wonderful and the food/drinks great too. Fantastic location in the area - 5-7 minute walk to the train station and in the centre of Vico.

I visited Vico Equense with my partner last August, and let me tell you, this place is unique. The rooms are in the heart of the little, typically Italian little town; the room was spectacular, extremely clean and you could really tell they had paid attention to the smallest details, from the toiletries they provided to the bedding, the furniture, the wine selection they offer! Additionally, the hot tub on the terrace was the cherry on the cake! This place is an experience by itself! Highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay at Don Giulio hotel. We opted to rent a car, which I highly recommend- an underground parking lot is steps away from the hotel and they are very friendly and helpful there. When you stay with the hotel, they don’t charge you at the lot, but you pay the host at the end of your stay (15 EUR/ day). The rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable. Our hosts were very kind and easily available for any questions or concerns via WhatsApp. Although this isn’t necessarily a negative comment, I do wish I would’ve known ahead of time- the pool is not onsite- it is about a 10 minute drive away and needs to be reserved during busy times. We only had a chance to use it once during the week, and while it was lovely, I was very disappointed to find it wasn’t at the hotel directly (as this was the main reason we booked the hotel). Again, not necessarily bad as we still had access to it, but I would have liked to know ahead of time. There was a jacuzzi on the rooftop of the hotel, so we at least had a chance to use it a couple times throughout our stay. Breakfast was great, a short walk to a nearby cafe down the street and all you need to tell them is you are staying at the hotel and they bring you a plate of pastries and your choice of coffee/ croissant/ brioche.

Our family of 5 stayed at this lovely boutique property last summer for 4 nights in the 2 bedroom apartment. It was perfect for a family, providing ample space and a nice terrace. The owners were so nice and welcoming. We fell in love with the town of Vico Equense and the hotel is located in the perfect spot in town. Quick walk to the train station where we took the train to Pompeii. Excellent restaurants, including the restaurant next door that the hotel owners also own. Great location to easily visit Sorrento and the Amalfi coast.

Worth it! Clean and very comfortable. We showed up in Vico with no real luggage and they were willing to do our laundry if needed and were able to check us in when ever we arrived. The place was very well located in the city. Bathrooms were very nice and clean and had great water pressure. Worth every penny

We stayed in the lovely clean, spacious and modern apartment with dishwasher, washing machine and oven/ hob - perfect if you have kids who don’t always appreciate restaurant food! The apartment is also very close to amenities - train station is around 7-8 minutes away which can whisk you off to nearby Pompeii, Naples or Sorrento. Definitely visit the Pizza by the metre restaurant next door and also try the local famous gelato place, popular with the locals!

Spacious, modern, well-presented and equipped and convenient apartment about 7 minutes from Vico Equense rail station and just 1-2 minutes from supermarket, greengrocer, and with a handy bread shop just opposite. Restaurants under 5 minutes away. A little disconcerting on first arrival as there is no free access entrance, just an intercom on the wall which, in our case, was not answered first time. It may be beneficial to contact the owners with a clear arrival time if you have one. After this, various key codes were provided and access was then straight-forward. Also thought the price point was a little high, certainly compared to our comparable accommodation in Naples and Rome but maybe it is the going rate for the Sorrento/Amalfi area. We had a very enjoyable stay.

From the moment you arrive, it feels like home away from home. It’s clean, modern and it feels very cozy. The service is beyond 5 stars! I forgot my valuables in the safe box and they were so kind and honest to mail them promptly to the United States! Definitely recommend and would return. Grazie Mille! ❤️
