Aequa Hotel

We originally booked Hotel Aequa for one night and extended our stay to seven nights, which reflects how comfortable and convenient the experience was overall. The pictures show the lovely pictures of the compound. Very pet friendly. The hotel is very well located as a base for exploring the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, and Naples. It offers a quieter and more practical alternative to staying in the more crowded tourist areas, while still providing easy access to key destinations. The room was comfortable, with a balcony that provided a good view. The ground floor common areas are spacious and well laid out, creating a pleasant environment to relax outside of the room. Breakfast is consistent and enjoyable, with items such as hot chocolate and a well-prepared cheese omelette. The staff are friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the stay. Housekeeping is reliable, with rooms cleaned daily and maintained to a good standard. The hotel also provides a private car park at a reasonable rate of 15 euros per day, which is particularly convenient for those driving in the region. There is a lift available, making it easy to access rooms with luggage. Amenities are very good overall, contributing to a comfortable and well-managed stay. The hotel offers a balanced combination of convenience, comfort, and value, making it a strong choice for travelers exploring this part of Italy.

The Aequa Hotel and Terrazza Glicine Restaurant In July 2026, my wife, our two sons and I once again enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Aequa Hotel in Vico Equense. We have been returning to this exceptional hotel for more than 26 years, and every visit reminds us why we continue to come back. What we appreciate most is the caring, friendly and highly professional nature of everyone who works there. From the staff who meticulously maintain the bedrooms, to the restaurant team, the reception staff, those who look after the swimming pool, and, of course, the ever-present owners, there is a genuine sense of teamwork and pride in everything they do. Their commitment to excellence is evident in every aspect of the hotel. Over the years, the Aequa Hotel has consistently maintained the highest standards of hospitality, providing the quality and attention to detail that every guest hopes to experience. It is no surprise that the hotel is just as popular with international visitors as it is with Italian holidaymakers. In recent years, the hotel has added a wonderful new dining experience: Terrazza Glicine. Every table enjoys breathtaking views across the Bay of Naples, with the magnificent Mount Vesuvius providing an unforgettable backdrop. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful settings in which to enjoy an evening meal. The cuisine is outstanding. Fresh local seafood is a particular speciality, complemented by an excellent selection of pasta and meat dishes. To finish, the lemon dessert is simply irresistible and the perfect conclusion to a memorable meal. The extensive wine list offers something for every taste, and the knowledgeable waiters are always happy to recommend the ideal wine to accompany your choice of food. The atmosphere is relaxed, elegant and welcoming. A special mention must go to Marialuisa and Marta, who greet every guest with genuine warmth, enthusiasm and infectious smiles, making everyone feel immediately at home. Finally, but most importantly, our heartfelt thanks go to Paola, Leo and Maria Pia. Your kindness, generosity and friendship over the years have meant so much to our family. The Aequa hotel is centrally located to visit any of the coastal area between Naples and Sorrento. Within the town of Vico Equense it’s conveniently placed to walk to most of the restaurants, cafes and the like. The hotel itself is generally maintained to a good standard, the pool area being notably good. The rooms however are small, Spartan , 3 hangers each, no additional hanging points in either the room or bathroom, good points, a nice sized balcony and electric roll down shutters which mask the outside noise and light at night. The room was always clean and fresh towels. The staff in the main could converse in English, they were very helpful but the hotel itself regarding drinks and food were a serious let down. Now this could be down in part to our package. Travelling with Mistral holidays, they plonked 36 people together here. We had no option but to sit at tables of 6-8 people, no option but to have our evening dinner at 8pm, a fixed and very poor offering at meal times. On paper, a la carte’ sounds great, two choices, three courses, what could go wrong. Such poor poor food for Italy, all delivered off a trolley, course at a time, pre ordered the night before, school dinners don’t describe this sufficiently, really disappointing, thus we ate out the final two nights of the seven. Outside a panoramic dining balcony to fit probably 50 covers was denied us in the evenings so they could entertain passing trade or pre booked customers, we were herded in with another large group into the inner dining room, no views, no atmosphere, bleak. A small bottle of peroni was €6, I did find a rose’ wine for €15 which was pleasant but the other choices were at least €20+. If you’re touring and paying by the night, our problems won’t be yours but expect a starter to cost between €15-22 and more as you go through the menu. Our food was budget, I wouldn’t pay €5 for all three course, it was that bad. So if your looking to travel with mistral, prepare for the food, the tours were good, but cost wise, the holiday fell way short on value.

Still at the hotel, from the second we arrived it was wonderful, check in was a breeze, The room is clean and modern with all you need, The bed is very big and comfortable, the balcony has a table and two chairs, perfect for a pre dinner drink overlooking the bay of Naples with Vesuvius right in front of you, spectacular. The breakfast is great, certainly everything we would want and much more, and agin the view looking over the bay while you eat is honestly breath The staff are so very friendly and polite, nothing seems to be any bother to them Rooms are cleaned and towels changed I cannot fault anything, And lastly location location location, it is perfectly placed right in Vico Equence, everything in this beautiful town is right on your doorstep. Lastly I would like to add that the room is so quiet, even although the hotel is busy , you can’t hear a thing at night, so great sleep.

The hotel was clean and most of the staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was adequate but with little choice. The view was fantastic if you were in the right room. Some of the rooms were very small with basic amenities. The pool towels were just to lay on the sun-bed. Take your own!

We loved our two-week stay at Aequa Hotel! It is perfectly located - close enough to enjoy shopping, get groceries, enjoy local restaurants, seek out the perfect gelato, and/or catch a variety of transportation options for day trips to other cities. Yet, somehow it was also quiet enough to enjoy the beautiful views and hear the sounds of nature. The views were simply breath-taking - whether it be from our room balcony, the adorable patio, the yummy breakfast area, or the delightful dining room. It was truly a perfect place to stay!

Nice hotel with fantastic views, friendly staff and good food, badly let down by room quality. Rooms very small and cramped and dated shabby decor. Shower cubicle very small - as a 9st 5’5’’ female I struggled to get in and use. Came as part of a group and everyone described the same issues.
