Garner Hotel Vienna by IHG

The front desk staff were very enthusiastic. We asked for hot water and they immediately gave us a brand new kettle. Because we checked in quite late, the room we were given only had one bar of signal, and the Wi-Fi wouldn't connect. Even mobile data was sometimes unusable because the signal was so bad. Plus, the bathroom door didn't have a lock; it seemed to be broken. Since there were no other rooms available, we ended up having to stay in that room with the terrible signal.

Great location, right opposite the train station, with a metro station nearby and convenient airport shuttle access. However, the overall establishment is old and run-down, with peeling paint and simple decor. There's no Wi-Fi signal in the room, nor a fridge – just a safe. It's actually worse than a Hanting Hotel. When I asked to switch to a room with Wi-Fi, the front desk refused, so I had to use the internet in the lobby. I'm genuinely surprised this is part of the InterContinental Group.

The location is truly excellent, making it convenient to get everywhere. It would be even better if there were more kettles available.

Pros: 1: Great location, directly opposite the Central Station. If you want to access it from inside the station, look for the revolving door behind Picture 1 to enter the Icon mall, then find the exit next to the store in Picture 2, and you'll be right across the street. 2: Friendly staff. 3: Although the breakfast selection is small, it's fresh and tasty, and the cereal is delicious. 4: The toiletries smell nice. You can ask the front desk for toothpaste, toothbrushes, and slippers. However, they had run out of slippers and said housekeeping would bring them, but they never arrived even after more than an hour. Cons: 1: Too few power outlets in the room; only a USB port by the bed, which charges very slowly. 2: No phone in the room, and no 'Do Not Disturb' or 'Make Up Room' signs. 3: The bathroom light and exhaust fan are integrated, and the fan is very loud. 4: Rooms facing the street are very noisy. Light sleepers should be cautious. 5: The most unbearable issue was the low water pressure on the 3rd floor. It took ages for my long hair to get wet, and the water was either cold or scalding hot.

The room was a bit small, but perfectly adequate. The best part was its convenient location.

The location is super convenient, just a 5-minute walk to the main train station, and there are plenty of convenience stores and restaurants nearby. When we arrived, KLM had lost our luggage, and when I told the front desk lady, she was incredibly kind. She gave us lots of toiletries, slippers, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, and even told us where to buy emergency clothes. She was super enthusiastic! The room was a bit small for two people, but considering the cheap price, it was still great value for money.

The room was tiny, and there was no sofa. Around 9 AM, someone knocked on the door and then just walked right in. I hadn't even had a chance to react, and the cleaning staff was already inside. Is that normal? Seriously, do NOT book this place. The service is horrible, and it feels like a safety hazard.
