Boutique Hotel Nossek

Coming from a first-time female solo traveler, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than this hotel. Location — You can’t beat the location for both walking and taking public transport. It’s also next door to a grocery store called Julius Meinl, which adds a whole other layer of convenience. The area is safe at all hours of the day. Although the crowded city center is right outside the door, the hotel itself is peaceful and quiet, and I never heard any of the outside noise from my room. Staff — The staff was extremely friendly, the front desk felt like a safe space where I could ask questions and they were happy to answer them and provide any resources or help I needed. I arrived before check-in time and expected to just leave my luggage with the front desk, but the staff checked and let me know my room was ready and treated it like it was no inconvenience for me to check in early. Amenities — Housekeeping leaves a fresh jug of water in your room each day, and there was an included buffet-style continental breakfast each morning. The breakfast was my favorite part, as there was always a large assortment of breads, meats, cheeses, fruits, veggies, jams, spreads, you name it. There is also a high tech coffee machine that will make any drink you want in seconds. The wifi was fast and reliable, and the air conditioning was so good I had to turn it down at some points. Bathroom was well stocked with full size shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and lotion, towels, tp, tissues, etc. I really couldn’t come up with a shortcoming or complaint about this hotel if I tried. I’d highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Vienna, but especially if it’s your first time traveling alone and want to stay somewhere friendly, calm and close to everything.

Very surprised to read soo many positive reviews... there is very little positive to say about this hotel other than its location! Staff was unfriendly, when we checked in the man standing next to the lady did not even bother to say hello, the rooms are old and tired and more importantly the entire place was just one MASSIVE construction site, noizy and no warnings prior to booking! Stay elsewhere there are MUCH better places in Vienna.

I enjoyed our stay at Hotel Nossek. We arrived late in the evening so the reception was closed but they sent us very clear instruction to enable us to access our room. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fine. The breakfast was really good and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The main advantage of the hotel is its location on Graben. This is right in the heart of Vienna very close to the cathedral. The main disadvantages were firstly that the internet connection was very poor and secondly that the front of the hotel including our window was covered by scaffolding.

Booked this hotel because of its location, right in the middle of the city, brilliant. We asked them to organise an airport shuttle and the lady they use was absolutely lovely, very talkative and helpful, obviously we booked her for the trip back… The hotel itself is grand, rich in history and rooms very clean and tidy. The ladies on reception were super helpful and showed us around the restaurant and breakfast area, all included for us and was brilliant (order the omelet, to die for…) We came and went at our leisure and would recommend it to anyone planning a wee city break in Vienna…

There is no question that this hotel is in a fantastic location! It's right in the middle of and easy walking distance to all the main (first time visit) sites to see in Vienna. And we were there just after Christmas and still had the opportunity to enjoy their massive Christmas Markets. As for the hotel itself, as Rick Stevens put in his travel book about this hotel, it's "worn & threadbare." Very true. The pictures on ******* site and web look much nicer than they really are. The front desk staff could have been more welcoming in their greet. They were gruff and I felt like we were intruding on them and they were annoyed that they had to stop what they were doing. The biggest issue for me was NO WIFI! Ok, they have "some" wifi, but even when checking in they mentioned that their wifi was really bad. HUH? In this day and age and at THIS location?!?! it was very annoying trying to get travel related items done and some work done from home. Completely uncalled for! I could mention other things like if you were any taller than my 5'6" and needed to sit on the commode in their very small water closet, you'd end up with bruises on your head and knees because the wall is so close. In closing, for the location, it was a great price and the place has "character" and they have a very nice breakfast. For some it could just be just the right place. But for my family of four after a two week Xmas trip through Germany and Austria in some fabulous hotels, this was very disappointing.

We only stayed at Hotel Nossek two nights but loved it. It is full of character and charm and located right on Graben! Being able to take the train from the airport and then metro to Stephensplatz was brilliant. We were warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The room was cosy but had everything we needed. The location is perfect for walking around the city and in our case, visiting Christmas markets, the Hofburg Palace and Schmetterling Haus. There are several Christmas Markets within very easy walking distance. There are two metro stations nearby and from there it is so easy to travel further afield. Stepping out of the hotel and hearing the buzz of the crowds enjoying Graben was magical. We had a room with an interior view but could not hear the city noise at all. The breakfast was pleasant. We particularly enjoyed the fresh omelette and beautiful fresh rolls. There were lovely Christmassy touches in the breakfast room. We would definitely return to Hotel Nossek, if fortunate to visit Vienna again.

If you’re in Vienna for holidays, this is the place! It’s on a bustling street well decorated for Christmas holidays during our stay, walkable to all the attractions. It’s also one of the many residences that Mozart lived!

Room was so small, was not any char only bed and minibar and bathroom ,but NO phone ,no safe, no anything in bathroom NO room for $200!! Waiting hour to got in house, with mailman, no buzzer working on door, no phone working, later reception not very worry when iI tould her. Ripping turists !!
