Great place to stay. Beautiful property! Parking is a bit issue..no on site, but not a huge deterrent.

Check in is at the HS Milfontes Hotel near the river. Everything was great.

Change the sofa and it will be perfect The apartment is very nice ,i didn't see the 2nd rental we had for a single room but was told it was very good . The location is great and the facilities also ,nice garden and an excellent barbecue area. What i absolutely disliked was the Couch bed ,advertised as for 2 persons but its not ,its a very small couch and even fo one person its impossible to sleep on it ,the mattress is absolutely not.for sleeping even if you open it and try to use it on the floor . Actually the couch is not comfortable even to.be sitted and watch tv ... Very bad choice and for me the only really bad thing in the apartment...But as we were 2 and one was sleeping on the supposedly 2 Person Couch/bed this issue became very important when evaluating our stay...

Good place Good place to stay, calm, but isolated. No employees work here. It’s clean, good shower, and comfortable.

Being low season, the reception was vacant, one had to get to another hotel to register. I had an ant invasion in my room, mosquitoes buzzing at night and window which could not shut properly.

This is going to be an honest review. What a disappointment, a complete misrepresent of what was described on the site. There was no facilities for washing clothes. There isn’t a restaurant and the certainly not any Spa! I booked this hotel/apartment for 15 nights based on what was listed on the hotel page. Don’t get me wrong we enjoyed our stay and the staff were very helpful and friendly but it was completely let down by its facilities. The breakfast was very good with a great selection of hot and cold food and well worth the price. our room was full of ants even in the bed but it was dealt with very quickly by given the room a good clean. The room itself was ok. The bathroom door, the paint had pilled away, the old hairdryer was still attached to the wall & had wires exposed, the drying line run from outside of the shower to the towel rail which was old and dirty and need replacing. There was no restaurant, once breakfast was finished you couldn’t even get a drink or ice cream until after 2pm - the drinks that were on offer were very limited, coke, sparkling water with lemon or water & on one day there was only a water the same for the ice cream, only 3 choice. You could have a toasted sandwich at lunch but choices were limited and only after 2pm. The pool and bbq needed a lot of work.The bbq had a giant hole in the base so the coals fell through, no Umbrellas for shade & the beds where old and tatty, tiles missing and no life saves rings.The outside shower was dirty.

We recently cycled from Lisbon to the Algarve and the company we cycled with (Cycling Rentals - century cycles) put us up in this lovely hotel in this beautiful town. Our room was at the back looking over the gardens. It had a little terrace. The room was spacious and the bed very comfy. The only issue was it had no kettle and being English we’d brought our teabags along for our morning and afternoon cuppa! We were told that there were no kettles to lend us (every other hotel we had been on our trip happily provided us with one to the room or the rooms already had them in!) We we’re told that we could use the shared kettle that was in the main building upstairs on a landing. We dutifully did that and had to trek through the hotel with our hot cups of tea. We are partial to a camomile tea at bedtime but couldn’t even get in to use this ‘shared kettle’ because they lock all the doors at 9 (even the bar closes early too) so unless you had a room in that building you could not go in to use the kettle. Strange. Maybe they need to think about investing in a kettle for the rooms OR providing a kettle for each section that is accessible and not locked by 9 pm! Shame the bar closes, we’d have enjoyed an after dinner drink there - they are missing a trick! Nice little pool out front of the hotel and the staff who do the breakfast, the cleaning and all the laundry were just lovely. The guy on reception was helpful up to a point but just seemed a bit aloof! The town of VN de Milfontes is lovely and the hotel is well situated and you can walk everywhere. Make sure you go to the beach bar for sundowners and the most delicious grilled fish!
