Milfontes Guest House - Duna Parque Group ★★★
"About 2 km from the center. Huge room; bathroom with large hydromassage tub, shower, two sinks and bidet; large wardrobe and mini bar. Very comfortable bed. The shared kitchen is fabulous, complete with everything, from the oven to the washing machine, coffee machines with pods available, water dispenser, toaster, microwave. Small indoor swimming pool (out of season) with additional jacuzzi corner, open from 8am to 8pm. Exceptional quality/price ratio."
So Mar ★★★
"Good service, sympathy, cleanliness and availability. Possibility to extend your stay. Always with a smile. D. Hercilia a Sweet person, the girl of the reception always available to clarify or help. The cleaning of the room and toilet always imperfect "
Quinta do Canal
Corkoon - Duna Parque Resorts & Hotels ★★★
"Well located, comfortable and clean."
River Inn - Duna Parque Resorts & Hotels ★★★★
"Close to the sea, comfortable bed, small terrace, air conditioning, and adequate bathroom. For Christmas, we were satisfied with the quality/price ratio."
Patios Da Vila - Duna Parque Resorts & Hotels ★★★
"Stopped for a one night sleep at this boutique hotel which seemed more like an apartment as it had also a kitchenette included. Parking available opposite the hotel. I would prefer staying on ground level as the other level would require carrying a suitcase up one level. Room was clean, great ac and wifi, and cannot complain. Breakfast was not available but plenty of choices outside."
Quartos da Vila - Duna Parque Resorts & Hotels ★★★
"Overall good. Mind that no elevator is there and parking is a space in front of it. Room was nice and very clean. Some issues with service (showere was not working correctly, and despite messages received, none came to fix it)"
Villa Eira ★★★★
"This place is clean and comfortable, with a good freshly made breakfast. But what sets it apart from others was the professional welcome from Rudolf. We arrived tired and he immediately made us feel at home. He was kind enough to recommend and book a table at the excellent Tasca do Celso, which was the best meal we had in Portugal. But that was just the start. A few days later we found ourselves caught up in bad weather further down the coast, struggling a bit with unexpected travel difficulties. Even though we’d left Villa Eira, Rudolf helped us sort things out. The man is a marvel. Please stay at Villa Eira everyone!"
Alentejo Charm House ★★★
"Fab little boutique type hotel in the centre of Vila Nova de Milfontes. Walking distance to everything. Spotlessly clean, lovely bed linen, great shower, very nice breakfast and lovely friendly staff. No bar or lounge area but the room had a generous balcony and coffee machine."

"Structure a bit dated but overall good.. slightly expensive.. good location"
Quinta Das Varandas by Umbral
"The hotel is well located, whether you're going to the beach or the town center. It's not luxurious, the decor is simple, but everything was very clean, both the room and the common areas. Quiet. It has private parking. Affordable price. Friendly staff. There's no elevator, which makes it difficult to go to the upper floors with luggage. The Wi-Fi is very bad; I had to use data to be able to open internet pages. Also, the TV lost signal in the middle of a movie. I found this very distasteful, and in my many years of traveling in Portugal, Europe, and Africa, I've never been asked for a deposit."
Guarda Rios
"When I think of B&Bs, I can't help but think of dusty houses with creepy dolls. (likely from a bad experience in Napa Valley years ago) This was NOT my experience at Guarda Rios. The B&B itself is bright and modern as well as very well located. Our room was probably the most immaculate space that I have ever stayed in a hotel. It was also quiet and peaceful. The staff was very helpful and friendly, particulary Maria who secured us a same day reservation at Tasca Do Celso, a fantastic restaurant. I highly reccommend that tourists exploring the Atlantic Coast visit Vila Nova de Milfontes on the Alentejo Coast and stay at Guarda Rios."
HS Milfontes Beach Hotel | Duna Parque Resorts & Hotels
"The experience was good in the clean room with a 5* hot tub, but we had a somewhat unpleasant surprise with cockroaches next to it."
Tres Marias
"A very relaxing hotel that invites you to enjoy the silence and the feeling of nature. Decorated with a refined taste in its simplicity and good taste. Combine the traditional with some design touches. For hot Diaz it has a beautiful pool. Dinners and breakfasts are delicate and quiet. It is a hotel that invites you to relax and slow down the pace of life. The staff is correct but Olga goes out of her way with clients. I would return to the hotel without a doubt. I hope your hospitable spirit never changes."
Parque de Campismo Orbitur Sitava Milfontes
"Positive points: The park is well located, very close to the beach (600m) and ideal for those who have a good tent and all the necessary amenities (refrigerator, bathroom, lights, food, etc.). Intermediate points: The staff were quite rude, inexperienced in communication, and offered no help or solutions to mundane problems. When we asked if it was possible to keep accumulators, we had to speak to at least 4 employees, all of whom told us to speak to others, but in the end, the final answer was that the bosses wanted to sell ice... Furthermore, some of the employees don't even speak Portuguese. Negative points: The highlight is the BATHING AREAS; I found them a real assault on basic needs. Actually, I've seen nightclub bathrooms in much better condition and cleaner at the end of a night... The smell of urine in the air is constant and everywhere, open and full trash cans, toilet paper on the floor with excrement, urine scattered throughout the cubicle and even in the common areas... toilets soiled with excrement, the smell of urine even in the showers (to alleviate the smell and be able to shower, you had to put your flip-flops on top of the drain), showers with no space to move (if you are claustrophobic, try showering somewhere else). In my attempts to shower, regardless of the time, it was audible to hear men moaning in the showers, in addition to condoms on the floor around the changing rooms. The entire bathroom area is constantly damp and wet due to the way cleaning is done. I saw how the bathrooms are cleaned; they start cleaning at 8:00 AM and the effort is minimal. They use a hose and a broom with some detergent mixed in, literally pointing the hose into the cubicles and that's it. I don't think you'd need a bodysuit and oxygen mask to clean these bathrooms. Furthermore, most of the toilets are makeshift, with open flushes, meaning nobody uses them, and there are queues to use a normal toilet. However, it's important to note that if you want to sit down, you have to bring extra toilet paper to clean up the accumulated water from the "cleaning," as the entire toilet is soaked. Also, if you plan to camp in this park, always carry hand sanitizer and disinfectant!"

"29/9-1/10 Apart 5 We three middle aged guys from London booked an apartment here the day before from Lisbon. After arriving on the coach around noon, a wander round, lunch nearby and sitting by the sea we checked in at 4 as required. Our host, Sonia, was bubbly and friendly, asking only one of us for ID, gave us a ‘ticket’ which we ‘must not lose’, then took us to apartment 5 which was large, bright and clean. The main room had a dining table, large smart TV (dedicated Ntfx & YT button - but no Disney+ app), two sofa beds and a double corner window to the main road and large vacant plot opposite. The sea was visible to the right hand side. There were plenty of hooks (hurrah). A welcome booklet had useful local information on supermarkets and restaurants but omitted the popular (with locals) H2O restaurant and Vegetarian Cantinho do Mercado restaurant (by the Market). The WiFi code was included and was quite fast (10p,62d,44u at 09:20). The whole apartment is completely non smoking (hurrah). The kitchen was well equipped with a corkscrew (hurrah) but no wine glasses unfortunately (too easy to break?). Three of each of cutlery, crockery and glassware with a variety of pots, pans, sieves, lemon squeezer, chopping board, serving utensils, blunt cutting knife and bread knife. A new kettle, simple microwave, new coffee maker (with rinseable filter), new blender, toaster, clean fridge, double standard old school electric hob were provided (we didn’t need an oven as some might). The window over the sink had a view of the empty space opposite with the recycling bins and residual bins behind a slatted wooden screen - all very convenient as the instructions specify DIY. A dripping tap was hard to turn off (and gets worse when tightened over time). I forgot to report it and hope management reads this! Underneath the sink was a plastic drainer, washing up liquid (hurrah) and a nylon sponge. A collection of clean tea towels was provided (hurrah). There was limited preparation space and no overhead lighting so preparing was in shadow. Installing my own led bulb on a cable and rearranging the microwave etc. fixed the issue. The main bedroom had a proper double bed with sheets, two side tables (but electric sockets only on the window side), fitted cupboards, chest of drawers, new AC (unused), and plenty of coat hangers (hurrah) By the bedroom was a small enclosed ‘balcony’ with three upvc chairs and a drying rack. The closeable windows overlooked the empty plot. A broom and mop were provided too (hurrah). The toilet was accompanied by a bidet with plug. A small typed notice advised no paper down the toilet (a pictogram would have been better). The sink had no plug (I bring my own) to wash clothes in (as we do when travelling very light surviving on hand luggage only). A toilet brush was supplied (hurrah). Complimentary shower gel and soap was provided as well as three toilet rolls. The shower was good but soft water meant soap/gel was diffi"
