Reviews of Motel 6 Walterboro, SC

I'm so on the fence how to write this review given that it's a budget motel. It's obviously an older building, so the current owners had nothing to do with some of it's inherent issues, but the issues are still there, so I have to mention them. The main one is the noise. There are wood floors, which seem nice, but they carry sound. We could hear the creaking of the people above us every time they moved. The soundproofing between the rooms is terrible as well. We could hear our neighbors TV very clearly and I don't think it was up that loud. That said, I don't think the owners can do much about it at this point, so I can't really fault them for it. One thing they can address though are the doors. In both our rooms, the entry doors did not sit flush with the frame. On one of the rooms, if you stood outside the locked door, there was so much wiggle that you could push the door open almost to the point where you could see inside the room. It didn't feel secure, and i'm sure it could be easily breached with moderate force. Same thing as from the inside. In both our rooms at night, you could see light from around the doorframes meaning they we not sealed well at all. I'd be concerned about things crawling in there at night, especially as it gets warmer. I pushed a suitcase against the door to try to force it closed as much as I could. Doors aside, the rooms were clean and were in the condition you'd expect for this price point. Definitely signs of age and wear and tear, and you can tell they fix things selectively...but everything was in working order and, like I said, appeared clean. There was lots of parking.
