Edgewater Hotel

The environment is absolutely stunning, right by the lake. When you draw the curtains, you're greeted with beautiful views of Lake Wanaka and the snowy mountains, plus adorable ducks that visit daily. We were even allowed to check in early, which was very kind of the staff to arrange since there was an available room – much appreciated! However, some of the facilities felt a bit poorly designed. First, the bed was too small; we barely dared to turn over for fear of falling off. Second, the bathroom fan and the outdoor AC unit were quite noisy. Those sensitive to low-frequency sounds might need earplugs to sleep. Also, the trash can was tiny, so if you have multiple people, remember to bring extra garbage bags. On weekends, it seemed like there might have been a staff shortage for cleaning, as our room wasn't made up until nearly 3 PM. Overall, it was still a pleasant stay, and I'm grateful for the hotel's service.

The hotel has a washing machine with a dryer, which is perfect for travelers who need to do laundry on their trip. The surroundings are also absolutely stunning, with a large lawn right outside the door, and a lake just beyond the lawn. It's also very close to the famous 'Lonely Tree' photo spot.

The hotel's surroundings are fantastic and very comfortable. You can open the window and step right out onto a grassy area—it's a great spot for a vacation! We were a party of three, and they even arranged an extra bed for us in advance, which was a nice touch. The kitchen facilities provided were also very well-equipped!

Our ground floor room had direct access to a lawn, and from there, we could walk straight to Lake Wanaka. The famous 'Wanaka Tree' was just a 5-minute stroll away. The views were absolutely stunning!

The hotel environment is superb, with a beautiful lake view. I was lucky enough to get a lake view room as a surprise!

Staying at Edgewater in Wanaka was incredibly therapeutic. The hotel directly faces Lake Wanaka, with its lawn extending right to the waterfront. Waking up to the morning mist over the lake felt absolutely dreamlike. Our room had expansive views, and the hotel offers excellent amenities like a spa and tennis courts. The food was authentic and delicious. It's a perfect escape from city noise, allowing you to quietly soak in the gentle beauty of the Southern Alps lakeside.

The hotel's environment is absolutely top-notch. I specifically chose it for hiking Roy's Peak from Christchurch. The off-season price before the ski field opened was reasonable, and I even got a complimentary upgrade to a lake-view room. The hotel restaurant's food and prices were excellent too. I ended up extending my stay for two more nights.

Excellent stay! The hotel's location is fantastic, very close to the 'Lonely Tree'. The breakfast offered a great variety of choices. It's an apartment-style hotel, not a traditional one, which I liked. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.
