    My spouse and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Washington Capitol for two nights in early January 2020. We reserved our room online. We are IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) Rewards Group Gold Elite members, but we do not feel that we received any special recognition. The Holiday Inn Washington Capitol is located south of the Mall just 0.1 mile from the Air and Space Museum. Although the hotel’s name includes “Capitol”, it is about 0.8 mile southwest of that famous building. The hotel is located near the offices for the Smithsonian Museums, as well as near other governmental offices like the Department of Education and the Office of Special Education. This means that the area is busy during the workweek/workday but is a bit desolate in the evenings and on weekends. It also means that the few meager restaurants within a block of two walk of the hotel are more geared toward office workers grabbing a quick self-service casual lunch than hotel guests looking for a more relaxing full-service evening meal. There’s a McDonalds, Quiznos, deli, and Starbucks in the same block as the hotel, with varying hours of operation. A CVS pharmacy (which sells other sundry items) has mostly daytime hours. Fortunately, the hotel offers two full-service restaurants called the 21st Amendment (see our separate review) and the Capitol Bistro, as well as a more casual grab-and-go daytime Coffee Kiosk and an adjacent Starbucks. The hotel is located just a block from the L’Enfant Metro station, so it is easy to reach other areas of the city, although taxis and ride services (Uber, Lyft) are also readily available. Hotel public areas include a large lobby, seasonal rooftop pool (which we imagine is a hit with vacationing families in the summertime), fitness center, business center, and guest laundry. The hotel offers self-parking for a fee of $45 per day. This hotel has conference and event space, which is why we stayed here; my spouse was presenting at a work-related trade show in the hotel. The hotel offers 536 rooms spread over eight stories. We booked a one-bedroom suite, but it was not particularly conducive to a relaxing stay. Although our room was technically located on the second floor, due to the elevation of the land, it was actually on the ground floor/street level because our rooms faced an interior outdoor courtyard. Because we visited in the wintertime, that courtyard was relatively unused, but we could see the tables and chairs that office workers and guests must occupy in the warmer months, which would provide no privacy for our suite of rooms if the curtains were open. Upon entering our room, we immediately encountered the bathroom, which was long and narrow, with an expansive vanity (but only a single sink), shower/bathtub combination, and toilet. A long hallway led to the cozy living room, with a small loveseat, TV, mini-refrigerator, and counter with a wet bar and coffee maker (our room had no microwave).     This hotel does not have a kitchen, so breakfast is not included. But there is a cafe with meals downstairs. There is a small supermarket across the road, as well as Starbucks. There are many delicious restaurants around and it is very safe. Convenient transportation, 5 minutes walk from Wugu Station on Orange Line and Blue Line; 10 minutes walk from Dupont Circle on Red Line.

    Hotel location 7 minutes walk from the unionstation, the room is quite satisfactory, the service is general, go out and turn right across the road to have a coffee shop, breakfast variety; go straight 300 meters is the Parliament Building (can be reserved for free); there is a hotel opposite the hotel, its restaurant It is full at night; the hotel is left to cross the road and is Starbucks. After five minutes, it is a Wal-Mart supermarket, which can supplement food. You can download LYFT for sharing bicycles and pulleys. Four people recommend using Uber. Capital Hilton Hotel is still the best.

    Nice hotel located in walking distance from union station and Capitol Hill. Most of the tour buses are located at union station so you can walk there and select the type tour you desire. The rooms at the Liaison are small but adequate. No cups in the room except for 2 coffee cups. We enjoyed our stay.

    We stayed here for 2 nights while in town to attend a couple concerts at the Capital One Center. The location is absolutely perfect. Like a minute walk to the arena. We got a new room on the 12th room and it was beautifully decorated and very spacious/ could not say a single thing bad about the room. The staff was amazing and very accommodating. We loved the fact that they had their own enclosed parking garage. Valet were very pleasant and quick. Our only complaint with the hotel was they are still renovating and we were woken up at 7am with pounding and a lot of noise both days. Our floor was not completed so it was extremely loud. Not exactly what you want to wake up to after being out late at concerts. We were not given warning ahead of our reservation or even at check in that they were doing renovations. Would have been nice so we could have made the decision if we wanted to go elsewhere . Other then that, great staff and location and a nice new room.

    My stay here was ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS!!!!! 1. The water pressure in the shower was TERRIBLE borderline non existent 2. The only water offered in the hotel was TWO DOLLARS!! ( & it's not like there was any place to get complimentary water, like hotels usually have) 3. There were MULTIPLE signs in the hotel that offered "contactless room service" however this isn't true, if you call for room service some one answers the phone to let you know that there is none 4. There's also no house keeping so garbage piles up in the garbage can in your room. They tell you to put your garbage out in the hallway for house keeping to pick it up but no one ever comes to pick it up 5. Multiple things that they promote are exaggerated or not available (i.e. Outdoor garden sitting area was never open & 24hr snack "Pavillion" was just a drawer with candy bars in it next to guest service, this is also where the $2 water is) 6. On the last day we had NO WATER! They apparently scheduled for a plumber to to do work on the WHOLE HOTEL on 9/28 from 10:30 PM- 5 AM (there were only 2 signs letting guests know this was going to be happening, 1 on each elevator) however when we woke up at 11am ON 9/28 the plumber was already there & the water was shut off!!! So we couldn't shower, I had to use bottled water (that we bought from the grocery store because we didn't want to buy 1 bottle for $2) to brush my teeth & wash my face & we couldn't flush the toilet... DISGUSTING!!! The ONLY reason why I gave this place a 1 star instead of 2 is because the guest service was GREAT!
