Ivy City Hotel

Location: Some users mentioned it is close to places like Costco, Target, with a 15-minute drive to the White House, and being in a location that's convenient for attractions yet away from downtown traffic. Free parking is also available.(based on 2 reviews)

First I must say I am 66 years old with a neck injury. I do wear a neck brace. On the first night the bathroom door was actually a barn door that slides on rails. Well, the door wasn't on its rail but leaning against the wall opposite the bed. I did not notice it, so when I attempted to close the door, it fell on my shoulder, exacerbating my neck injury. Fortunately, I was wearing my neck brace. I was also lucky to have a friend with me. She rushed over and pushed the door off of me. In the morning I reported the incident but the desk clerk did'nt seem to care about the door mishap or my distress. I had taken pictures of the condition of the door, but he only asked which room I was in. Later, after visiting the city, back at the room, the barndoor had been fixed. Great? No, I asked for my money back. It was outrages to be in a motel room and see the hazardous state it was in. I did request a refund but I was ignored and given no compensation or compassion for that matter. I would not and will not recommend the Ivy City Motel to anyone visiting D.C.

The hotel room is cleaned. The customer services are great and polite and they will try to fulfill what we requested
