Malolo Bed and Breakfast

Pulling up to Malolo’s B&, I didn’t know what to expect; The street was nondescript, the house solid but plain. But then Chef George greeted us, surprising us with leis! We were welcomed into a comfortable home with whimsical South Seas/Samoan decor. Our large room was spotless, the bed just right, the shower strong. Chef George served us fantastic breakfasts & we got to try Samoan dishes! But it was the warmth & generosity of our hosts, George & Dave that made the difference. I miss them.

Perfect place to stay for my solo excursion to DC last weekend. George and David were great hosts and I thoroughly enjoyed all our my interactions with them. The food was great, the room was super comfortable, and everything went perfect. Thank you George and David

Chef George and David were, without a doubt, the highlight of our entire trip to D.C. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like part of their family. Their warmth, generosity, and attention to detail turned our stay into something truly special. As someone with a black pepper allergy and a vegetarian diet, I’m used to navigating limited food options while traveling—but not here. Every single breakfast was thoughtfully prepared to meet our needs, and beyond being allergy-safe, everything was absolutely delicious. It happened to be my husband’s birthday during our stay, and they went above and beyond—surprising him with a handmade card, a thoughtful gift, and even a birthday banner. It was incredibly touching and meant the world to us. Our room was spotless and cozy, cleaned meticulously every single day. But the magic of this place went beyond comfort. Every morning, we sat down to engaging, heartfelt conversations with George and David—full of local tips, great stories, and genuine connection. Those breakfasts became the heart of our trip, and we’ll carry those memories with us forever. We actually miss them already. It’s rare to meet people who make you feel so at home, and we’re already counting the days until we can return. Thank you, George and David, for making our first time in D.C. so unforgettable. We’ll be back soon—with full hearts and big hugs.

The hosts were fabulous. Couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. Breakfast was over the top in both quantity and quality. It was a bit embarrasing that we couldn't eat more. It was wonderful. The hosts were quick to grab our bags and helped with suggestions regarding sites and getting around. George even drove us to the subway in our car so that we could avoid paying for parking. I was traveling with a couple of new plants and they kept them in their greenhouse during our stay. The only problem was the location. I didn't feel safe walking around in the evening and it wasn't convenient to the subway system.

By far the best hotel/b&b stay I’ve ever had. I arrived late at night starving from a long flight and George brought me up a huge plate of pasta and an enormous salad all homemade (plus dessert) — and I ate every last bite! Everything about the room is great: totally spotless room that is cleaned every day, a huge, comfy bed with tons of pillows, peace and quiet in the neighborhood — I slept long and deeper than I usually do at home. Also love the huge shower head in the bathroom. They gave me rides to and from the metro, as well as occasionally all the way into the city when they were headed that way. It was so nice to wake up in the mornings to the smell of big, home cooked breakfasts and coffee. To me, all of this makes this place so worth it, and the fact that this is all covered in the stay is kind of insane. Thank you George and David for such a comfy stay! George, I miss your food.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Malolo Bed & Breakfast! Dave and George were amazing hosts and the food was absolutely delicious. They are amazing hosts and made us feel so welcome in their home. We will definitely be visiting them again!
