Clarion Inn Columbia Airport

West Columbia|3.14km from city center
I have encountered this front desk women named (Patel) a couple times and both times she was extremely rude and nasty. I had a couple of rooms the day for my self and a couple guest. My guest who are not of Caucasian descent went to get in the pool and she kept harassing them more than once within 15 minutes of each other to leave the pool that comes with their stay. The open times a perfectly displayed on the pool from 10am to 10pm and when we all checked in we were told it was a hot day and the person who checked us in encouraged us to go swimming. We all went and brought swim suits and decided to go swimming. When my husband and I left my two guest were harassed over and over by her. Screaming the pool is closed I want to lock it and it was not even close to 10 oclock pm closing time. When my husband and I went out there no words from her at all. Very sickening to witness such behavior in an adult. Sad as well because she is Indian decent (non-Caucasian) descent herself so I would think she would know better to treat someone different because of how they look, and not to profile anyone which makes it even sicker to me. The rooms were very dirty, the tub had a black, dirt ring around it upon arrival which was the second room we asked to be changed from the first because we thought another would be better. (no refund or cancelation policy for choice hotels by the way, but with that being said do you really wonder why) They do have ”hot” breakfast, but you cannot take it to your room and it is very, very limited. All the vents were dirty, I mean filthy in the room. (I have pictures of all I am saying) Nothing wiped down, furniture falling apart carpets are not vacuumed. The carpets have a film on them I don't think they have ever been tended to since install, roaches and much more. You would think with such an outdated, falling apart place like that you would try to counter act it with Great Cleaning and Excellent customer service, but it appears they are trying to get you not to come back. No one has any name tags so you cannot tell who is who staff or not. At your own risk

Gervais Street Bridge

Hampton Inn Columbia-Downtown Historic District

Hampton Inn Columbia-Downtown Historic District

Columbia|1.22km from Gervais Street Bridge
The first challenge here was access. The hotel fronts on Gervais Street, but you have to access the parking lot from Lincoln Street. They have gated parking, but you can press a button to be buzzed in when you first arrive. After that, your room key can be used to access the lot. The sign said that guest parking was $14 per day. Check in was fairly quick. We got a room on the 4th floor (of 5). They had multiple luggage carts of at least 2 different types (I saw at least 4 total), which I pay somewhat more attention to now after staying in a larger place that only had 1... The hotel seemed quiet. Rooms toward the back would probably help in this regard. The location is on a main street in town, about 2 - 3 blocks from the state capitol building complex. It is a short walk (5 minutes or less) to a large number of restaurants or bars in the area. If you are here on a weekend, the Soda City Market is located on (mostly closed for just pedestiran use) Main Street starting about 5 blocks away. Breakfast was included with the stay. It started at 6 a.m. on the Saturday we were there for it. I'd say it was about average for what hotels are providing now, post-Covid. I had enough to eat, anyway. Our room was fine; we only had one bath towel for some reason, but we didn't notice until it wasn't convenient to request a 2nd one. The bed was comfortable. I've stayed in 3 different hotels now in / near Columbia. For staying in the walkable radius of downtown, this is a good option.

Feel pretty good
Residence Inn Columbia West/Lexington
4.5/552 Reviews
in most hotels, one may stay a few days. It would be a common and pleasant experience. However, my stay at the Residence Inn was completely different. I felt like I was more than at home. The room was clean but more than clean. It felt safe and secure. The decor was modern contemporary, and the furniture was arranged symmetrically. Yes, I've stayed here before, but it just felt different. The desk personnel was very pleasant, the gentleman in the breakfast/dining area said 'good morning' each I came to breakfast. The food was well cooked and arrange in such a way to have each item. I admit my first day was a little rocky because I came down still in a sleepy mode but adjusted. Thanks again, if it's the Lord's will, you will see me again.

Not as the description. There is no breakfast. The table in the room is dusty. The air conditioning is old and smelly. Just for a short stay.
Sleep Inn Airport West Columbia

We have been staying here for many years, twice per year, for two dances. The location is very convenient because it is very close to the dancing place. But what makes it more valuable is the employees. They are very friendly and very helpful.
Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Columbia Airport

I've stayed at Days Inn in other locations before, and I have to admit I was skeptical about this property too but went ahead to book for two nights. I have to say this Days Inn is nothing like the other I've stayed at. I was pleasantly surprised. The front desk staff was courteous and friendly. The room was clean unlike the reviews made by other guests. They served breakfasts too although I missed both days' breakfasts. (Other Days Inn advertised breakfasts but they never served them). Overall, a good stay. Be prepared to have a security deposit of $50 ready which will be refunded upon checkout (T&C applies of cos). Keep up the good work!
