Hlosi Game Lodge - Amakhala Game Reserve

What a really fabulous experience! Everyone is just incredible, just so kind, thoughtful and nothing is too much. From our welcome from Linda (and Andy), to a fantastic massage from Zanele, the staff in the restaurant- too many lovelies to mention. Chumi, our ranger, was so positive, friendly and a great teacher of the wild! The singing, the viewing, the hospitality and just so many hours of incredible sightings, thank you! As a local, it was really such a treat and just a special experience! We will be back for sure!

Spent 3 nights here - the team here look after you really well - nothing is too much trouble - food is always readily available ! And the bar is always open - the game drives are great fun - “Chumi” our guide was fabulous - expert driver on crazy terrain - the South African free massage 😹 - always smiling - we had a massage treatment which was the best one I’ve ever had - sad to be leaving.

Spent 4 days at Hlosi Safari Lodge in the Amakhala Game Reserve . Staff were all attentive . When we arrived we were greated by our safari guide called Abbie . Abbie was with us for all our morning and afternoon game drives . She was brilliant , knowledgeable and we had an amazing time . We saw all kinds of wildlife , and on the last day we saw lions after 2 days of them hiding from us . As we were the only guests at the lodge for most of our stay we were lucky to be the only ones on our game drive , so it was like a private one just for us . As a special treat for us Abbie also arranged a south African speciality , a Braai for us one evening for just us 3 and cooked it personally . If you have the chance to stay at Hlosi Lodge book it , and if you are lucky enough to get Abbie as your guide you are winning . What an absolutely incredible experience at Hlosi Game Lodge! From the moment we arrived, everything was beyond exceptional. The lodge itself is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly designed to make you feel relaxed while still giving you the full luxury bush experience. A massive thank you to Monique, the manager, who went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. Her professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for guests truly made the stay unforgettable. And then there’s Abby — hands down one of the best rangers/guides you could ever ask for. Her knowledge, passion for wildlife, and energy on every game drive made the entire experience something special. Every drive was exciting, informative, and filled with amazing sightings and unforgettable moments. The hospitality, food, atmosphere, staff, and overall experience were all world-class. You can really see the passion and care that goes into every part of Hlosi Game Lodge. Without a doubt a 5-star experience from start to finish. We cannot wait to come back again!

My stay at Hlosi Lodge was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, the staff and manager Monique made us feel so welcome and comfortable. The food was amazing, every meal was delicious and beautifully prepared. The safari ride was an unforgettable experience Abby made sure to go out of her way to show us all the beautiful animals truly the highlight of our trip. Everything about the lodge exceeded expectations, from the service to the atmosphere. I highly recommend Hlosi Lodge for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway!

Our stay was magical! The staff were so welcoming and when they heard that it was my birthday, they sent strawberries and Fizz to my room! Our ranger Abi was an exceptional guide and she did everything she could to ensure that we were able to see as many animals as possible during our stay. She is a fantastic driver and expertly navigated the terrain following heavy down pours in the previous days before our arrival. She is so knowledgeable and passionate about her job and made it her mission that she would find all of the animals we were hoping to see - we were certainly not disappointed!!! We saw so much and were so grateful to have had her as our ranger guide! Thank you Abi!!!!

Came with my teenage children to celebrate my 60th birhday. Had a fantastic time. Staff were friendly and polite, food was great and the game drives delivered beyond exectation. Would highly recommend a visit and we hope to be back.

Amazing lodge right at the heart of the Amakhala game reserve. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you are made to feel very welcome and special in this beautiful location. The team here are excellent - friendly, warm, and delivering the highest levels of service. Special mention to Oli and Elvis. BBQ night and amazing singing and dancing from the team were a particular highlight. Game drives were brilliant - Tim was an excellent ranger and we saw everything we could hope to see. Highly recommend.
