Reviews of Bonaventure Resort and Spa

Like many have mentioned, this place was probably nice 10 years ago. But it looks like it was abandoned and recently taken back over by someone. I need to bring an insecticide and get rid of all the bugs. They were bugs in our bedroom, both in the bathroom bugs everywhere. I even went to the restaurant and they were bugs on the food. It was mildew and mold all over the buildings, doors did not seal sidewalks are cracked, the place is disgusting. We were in building eight, which was one of the furthest buildings from the restaurant in lobby and pool, and the elevators did not work. And of course we were on the top floor. However, you do walk into the restaurant in the bar area and it’s like a totally different hotel: very nice, very clean and the service was pretty good in there. But anywhere else including the pool, the pool bar, the hotel rooms and the rest of the resort was disgusting. I believe if the health department came they would shut the place down. Everything else around here was $400 to $500 a night so I understand why there are so many people there. With so many people coming into this area from out of town, unless you read these reviews, you have no idea how bad this place is because of the great pictures they list online. And again, if this place were properly maintained this could be a great resort. But everyone else was fooled by the pictures online as well as we were. If you have any other choices stay elsewhere.
