Clayton Whites Hotel

We made a last minute booking for a family funeral last week ., It has been 41 years since we have been in Whites Hotel now Clayton Whites Wexford . We were married there in August 1981 . What can I say . From the moment of arrival at reception desk , the staff are amazing , every one we seen was smiling and so helpful .. the room was wonderful and inter connecting for our elderly sister . the restaurant food was sublime .. hats off to the chef and please pass on my comments .. nothing like a typical hotel restaurant .. the pool , the breakfast the room the atmosphere , everything was brilliant - welldone to your team , Michael the Manager , Kane on the reception and all staff we came accross during our 4 days ..... thank you . We will be sure to stay again next time we travel to Ireland .
Ferrycarrig Hotel

We had a family stay at the Ferrycarrig in may it was our first time staying at this hotel . Check in very swift and fast and the staff on reception were very nice . The family Room with the balcony was lovely and well equipped and thoroughly clean ( so housekeeping deserve a mention ) . From there though I do think management need to deal with a few issues . As someone who has worked at a management level in a 4 star hotel the service in the Bar was terrible . We were seated promptly we have 2 small children one of which has special needs the whole experience overall was not a good one . We ordered our mains which arrived late ( chicken was overdone ) ( some of the other food arrived out before my food and as someone who has worked in a hotel I found this really bad service ) my main was very poorly presented very little potato and vegetables . After this we had desserts which were nice and coffees . One of our kids needed to have a nappy change so myself and my wife went to change him while our two friends ( who were dining with us ) waited at the table with our other child to my amazement when I got back my chair which was at the side was taken from the table to be put somewhere else !!! It was like they wanted people moved on as soon as possible . I found this quite annoying and this is certainly something management need to address . I did not say anything as our kids were quite tired and wanted to go to bed ( I also didn’t say anything at check out ) . As someone who has worked at a management level in a four star hotel I think your whole bar service needs a complete revamp . I can understand when things can get busy and are overlooked but as someone who was staying at the hotel for the first time this did not create a good first impression . With regard to the breakfast service it was excellent and the staff can be commended with excellent manner and very helpful ( the one thing that could be looked at is maybe give a gluten free table option maybe a few boxes of cereal that are gluten free and some breads or pastries (this has been at many Irish hotels we have stayed at ) . If the management are taking anything out of this review please review your Bar service policies because our family experience was not the best .
Maldron Hotel Wexford
3.8/560 Reviews
The room is large and has complete facilities, including a bathtub. However, there is no rack to bake clothes, and the food in the restaurant is a bit poor. But the transportation is very convenient. There is a bus stop at the door, and you can take a bus to Dublin Airport.
