Reviews of Crow's Nest Apartments

We chose this hotel apartment when we brought our kids to the Coroman Peninsula in New Zealand. It was spacious, clean, and had a sea view from the window, which was very comfortable. Cooking our own meals was also very convenient. Unfortunately, there was a major rainstorm that closed the roads, so we stayed an extra day. When we left, the staff kindly gave us directions by car. The only inconvenience was that there were two flights of stairs from the basement to the elevator, so we had to carry our luggage.

Crow’s Nest offers a high standard of comfort, with more than adequate heating, good wifi, utensils and basic supplies (though I did have to buy kitchen-roll). The apartment was very spacious, with satellite TV, a nice view over the ocean, washing machine plus dryer and a great nearby convenience store selling most groceries you may need. The car park is covered, though it rained so hard the car’s interior actually took on water! Crow’s Nest is not cheap, but given the proximity to the sea-front, nearby restaurants and pubs, and the ferry over the water, it seemed worth the extra. Another bonus is that it is only 15 min walk to the lovely Lost Spring spa.

Good welcome. Room was very good, with a fully fitted kitchen. Difficult to park in the underground car park - very tight. No water in the room and no room safe, which is always important to us. The walk from the car park up to our room was on wooden boards, which were slippery after rain as the centre of the building was open to the elements.

One bedroom apartment rented for a couple of nights (possibly actually a larger 2 or 3 bedroom apartment but doors to other rooms locked). Spacious living/dining/kitchen area. Very clean and well equipped. Big balcony although we had not paid for a sea view. Roof terrace accessible to all - great view. Very helpful receptionist - lent us some spades to go to hot water beach. Lift from parking to our floor - but still a few steps to negotiate.

Lovely unit with all amenities, location near beach so we had a view from the apartment..some lovely cafes and bars around the corner..service was exceptional Comfy bed and well appointed kitchen.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay at Crows Nest, apartment on 3rd floor with balcony and sea view. Received an upgrade so appreciated that. Clean and tidy with everything you need and comfy bed. Very pleasant Reception staff so all in all would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

A very comfortable, clean and well appointment apartment, close to town and eateries. Lovely hosts. As these apartments are not serviced every day the only thing we would suggest is to have another hand towel available for when we washed our towels, and if that is our only problem we have nothing to complain about! A great four night stay, would highly recommend.

The little town of Whitianga is perfectly situated to visit the lovely Coromadel Peninsula. Crows Nest apartments are spacious, spotless and beautifully furnished with everything you would need including tea and coffee and starter cleaning products which is great. Quality appliances with dishwasher, washer and dryer. Lovely sea views from the large terrace and walking distance to the main street. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. These are very comfortable apartments and well located for exploring Whitianga and the Coromandel Peninsula. We had a large 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with a washer and dryer as well as a large balcony that offered water views over the beach and to the harbour. The apartment was very clean and modern and had access to a parking space. We would have liked a few more pantry items, eg cooking oil and foil, so as to make use of the kitchen for dinner one night. We’d been on the go for a week and were looking forward to some dining in. These aren’t the kind of things you carry with you if you’re on the move and staying in areas for just a couple of nights.

Great three night stay. Helpful and friendly check in. Excellent location a few minutes walk from everything. Apartment had a nice view from the balcony. It is exactly as shown on the website there was no view from the room as it is one back from the waterfront. Provided with ample dishwasher and laundry powder. Clean spacious room and good bed.

Nice location close to the beach. We booked an apartment with Sea view. Well the only sea view you get is standing at the side of your balcony.. The apartment basically has everything, from washing machine to well equipped kitchen. But everything is a bit outdated. Sofa is old, kitchenware quit used and damages in the bathroom. However, the place was clean and in view of the very reasonable price still 4 stars. Quality however more 3 than 4 stars. Pictures look beter than reality.

Fabulous location to the beach and town. Check was easy, the apartment was clean and spacious. However, it is a tad tired- patio furniture was broken- couch saggy and beds and pillows hard. I woke with a bad back daily: however my husband slept well although said the bed was hard. Would I recommend this property- yes, but be aware it needs an update.

stopped here for five days to recharge after our long tour it was the best location and accommodation we had in 12 other destinations. Clean modern and quiet with excellent facilities WiFi and parking. Kitchen was fully equipped. TV was great and a roof top to sit was watch the sun go down was an unexpected bonus. Short walk to beach restaurants shops ferry etc. we hired beach towels for some days too. It exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful comfortable room with an amazing balcony view of the ocean. Just a minute walk and you’re at the sea, alongside a variety of nice cafes/restaurants. Great parking available too. Would definitely stay here again & would recommend to anyone!
