I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express Wigan and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm and friendly service from the staff. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed with all the amenities I needed for a pleasant stay. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. The hotel also offers a complimentary breakfast each morning, which was a great way to start the day. Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Britannia Bolton hotel having read reviews I was not looking forward to our stay but was pleasantly surprised when we arrived, reception and corridors all spotless and the room we received was clean, comfortable and bathroom looked like it had just been upgraded, the staff were all pleasant and looked after you very well. Our morning started with a lovely breakfast good selection of cooked items as well as cereal's, toast etc not a large choice for evening meal but the price you pay couldn't complain.

Came here on a bus tour trip. Taken immediately by how modern our bedroom was and the facilities. Also very clean. Had dinner which was excellent. We had pate and mackerel to start, sea bream for mains with potatoes and veg and dessert of cheesecake. All excellent and very well served. As my title suggests, the best hotel yet on a bus tour. Well recommended.

The hotel is not really in Chorley, being located to the south west and some distance, from Chorley. It is situated on a motorway service area which is only accessible from the northbound M6. Exit is onto the northbound M6 too. This means that you have a rather long trek along the motorway if you are intending to access local amenities - or CHORLEY. It's fine as a stopover if you are actually travelling north on the M6. The hotel required more information at check-in the most do these days and they insist on you registering a debit/credit card at reception for a room deposit. No money is taken unless you damage something but they have carte blanche to take money and argue with you later should they so choose. Very few (none in my recent experience) hotels take such measures these days. In the era of fraud and identity theft it is never ideal to hand over information of any kind. The room was very comfortable and well appointed but the shower was very slippery. There were notices in the bathroom but some effort to make the bathroom less hazardous would be more useful. Overall there are better alternatives locally that do not require card details and are much easier to get to by car, and indeed public transport or cycle. Go elsewhere for the same standard of accomodation without the hassle.

Centrally located within walking distance to the town centre, shopping centres, cinema’s, fast food outlets and free hotel parking located in the hotel grounds. The room was large, spacious and very clean. Well appointed with sound proofed windows and good block out curtains. The sleep quality was great as the room was so dark with the curtains shut and the room was so quiet. Super comfortable bed with lovely linens and nice pillows in a climate controlled room - bliss. The air conditioning worked really well, especially during UK’s heat wave. The room was equipped with everything that you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Bathroom was very clean, good water pressure and thumbs up for environmentally bottled toiletries, which were very fragrant & lovely to use. Bathroom was well lit and had a decent hair dryer. Swimming pool & gym facilities were available, however you had to book a time-slot of when you wanted to use these facilities – which wasn’t an issue, you just had to be a little bit organised. Breakfast in the restaurant was fresh & plentiful, waitstaff were very polite and friendly. Bar was small and intimate with excellent bar service and a nice range of beverages to choose from. All the staff were fabulous and very accommodating. Faultless stay and we can’t wait to return.

I stayed here last year and gave it 5 stars We have dropped a star for two reasons If you want a hot drink from the bar you cannot put the charge on the room and have to pay separately at the machine this is very complicated and slow if you are tired and I required help from two helpful members of staff Also our room on the first floor was very noisy we could hear everything next door constantly However this is still an excellent example of the brand and all the staff are brilliant

Really lovely reception area, staff were great during book in, very helpful and friendly. Room was clean, spacious and warm. Just what we wanted for our one night stay. Didn't visit the bar or restaurant as was with my 12 year old Son but the menu looked excellent and the bar area looked pleasant. Plenty of nice flat car parking spaces. Would definitely visit again!
