Residence Inn Williamsburg

The room was clean, comfortable, and well laid-out. It was in the perfect location for Williamsburg. I liked that the big-screen TV could connect to my Netflix and Prime accounts so I could watch whatever I wanted in addition to HBO. The dining area was well stocked for breakfast and snacks (including bottled water and ice cream bars!). The brewed coffee was surprisingly good, far better than that garbage Keurig stuff you find in some hotels. Some reviewers are dinging the hotel for room service, and they were having staffing problems for a few days when we stayed (over the Christmas holiday), but that's not why you stay in a Residence Inn anyway: you're there for the long haul and all you really need are extra towels and sheets and stuff, which are readily available from the friendly staff, and you don't want the staff coming into the room if you have a pet. And they have a laundry room for doing your own laundry. The in-suite kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cookware, and dishwasher soap, which saved a ton on restaurants during our two-week stay.

Check in was great, the lady was very pleasant. The property is overall outdated especially for the price.

Stayed 5 nights and got room cleaned only 1 time. Each morning I went to breakfast area for coffee all the urns were empty & had to inform the guy on breakfast duty to make more coffee. Didn’t find the hotel staff to be overly pleasant. Other than that, the rooms are very nice and location is convenient.

This was by and large the most mediocre hotel stay I’ve ever experienced, but to believe that this was a Marriott chain hotel, as well as costing us almost $300 a night over 3 nights is extremely distasteful. Things started off well when we checked in and they had free snacks and pet treats. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming when spoken to, and they sold liquor in the lobby. That was the best part about this hotel, so that should say something. The website advertises room service every other day of the stay, and breakfast every morning, neither of which were properly provided. Room service never showed up, even when we requested them to provide us sheets for the pullout, and breakfast was missing most items, the milk was sour (likely not their fault since the dates were for a few days after our stay), and the juice machine was broken, providing us with disgusting mixtures of juices. The coffee was terrible, and the pastries were never refilled. In the room, our door did not even close fully, one of the bathroom shelves was very loose and hanging, the shower curtain was missing, the fan did not work, and the requested extra towels were not present. We contacted the front desk to ask for replacement sheets after finding those with stains on them covering our beds, as well as a set for the pullout, neither of which was delivered. Anything we needed, we had to go down ourselves and get, including sheets and towels. Garbage was not collected until the final night, and even then, the room service staff seemed to have a major disconnect from the front desk in terms of communications. We left the room each day for the entirety of the day, leaving housekeeping plenty of time to perform their services, none of which were received, even those that were requested. When we finally were able to reach management about these issues, we were told “Well, it’s a Residence Inn, so you don’t get room service every day.” As someone who is a Marriott cardholder, bringing my family to this hotel was embarrassing, and the compensation we received was extremely lackluster. I received 10,000 points, and a $100 refund for my $900 stay, but I am contesting this charge, as I refuse to pay a high price for such mediocre services that were not even provided in many ways. The only reason this is not a 1 star review is because they gave us somewhere to sleep and relax during our stay, which is the bare minimum. If you are considering this location, try your luck at the Springhill Suites across the parking lot. They may be pricier, but I would imagine the service to be much more tolerable there.

Noisy HVAC, could not tell soap from shampoo(green on green lettering), never got room made up.

I have stayed here several times over the last two years and this time the room and overall facility was disappointing to say the least. - no shower curtain - door to room and lock was broken - the breakfast was dismissal ( no grits nor oatmeal, no waffles, eggs were premade rubber circles, potatoe la were greasy and had sausage that looked grey, the cereal was stale, the hot water was Luke warm) - staff looked tired and were in their personal phones - the room I stayed in had home made paper signs warning of the smoking fine - the shower was not cleaned and the shampoo and conditioner containers were not filled (empty) - no soap - the hallways and overall facility needs a deep cleaning - never saw a cleaning crew - the room had one roll of toilet paper had to go to front desk and wait for 5 min for someone to appear to be given one roll The front desk when I tried to discuss the shortfalls they were unable to do anything “It is what it is” Tried contacting Marriott as I am a long time member and never heard back.

Great location. Friendly staff. Big room. Kids loved the ice cream at happy hour and the basketball court.

Awesome place to stay! My mom, stepdad and I came up for a friend's funeral. This was an oasis. The breakfast was good with many different items; the staff were friendly and they offered ice cream and snacks in the eating are every afternoon! I will stay here again!

Nice place, rooms were clean and big. Parking close and area was safe. Walking distance to chilis restaurant and several others. Decent breakfast included.
