Hotel Lela Wilmington, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Paid for regular room but got an accessible room that was horrible. Drawer fell apart, king mattress on a queen box spring, bugs in the hallway, phone plugged in and sitting on the floor. Pool closed due to poor landscaping that caused mud to run everywhere. Didn't enjoy my stay.

Amazing location; close to everything. Extremely nice people, clean, and it was affordable!

Wilmington is a place that makes me feel good every time I go. It's such a peaceful and beautiful place.

How is this hotel a Tapestry Hilton? I expect more from being a longtime diamond member. We checked in on a Monday and were supposed to check out on Friday. Within the first 15 minutes at the property we knew it wouldn’t work for my husband and our dog. The hotel has literally put lipstick on a pig. Situated next to a Rodeway Inn and attached to a Hilton Tru on a busy road. The hotel looked surface clean. Our bathroom floor was filthy, you could literally see dirty shoe footprints on the floor. They gave you 2 paper thin bath towels and not a single towel bar in the bathroom. No space at all for your toiletries, not even a shelf or bar in the shower. There is a small sliver of grass outside between the hotel and Rodeway Inn filled with glass and garbage. The other small patch is out front on the busy highway. And don’t get me started on the roaches! Thank goodness we did not see any inside the hotel like others have, but they are EVERYWHERE outside when we walked our dog at night. I went to the front desk an hour after checking in and let them know we would be checking out in the morning. We drove 9 hours to get there and turned around the next day and drove 9 hours home because we were so upset. Explained I wanted to pay for the one night stay with money and refund my Hilton Honors points for another vacation that was not ruined. Now here I sit with the hotel manager not returning my phone call and a help desk with Hilton looking in to the matter. Hilton, do the right thing! This property is disgraceful and should not be listed as a luxury Tapestry Collection and pet friendly as there is no where for your dog to go the bathroom.

Kassandra was so helpful & kind to us. Flight was canceled due to storms & she did her job & beyond! Even while the hotel was having a crisis of flooding she handled herself so well. She held our bags the next day, never treated us like it was a burden to help us out.

Our experience at this hotel was fantastic. MJ at the front desk was super helpful and courteous. We enjoyed the convenient and reasonably priced breakfast each morning of our stay. The pool is a huge bonus!!We will be returning in the future.

Excellent stay, the service and the food in the restaurant were exceptional! Chef Jimmy and Elana were attentive to my family and I during breakfast and by far this has been one of the best experiences I’ve had. The food was made with care and intention from quality ingredients, it was flavorful and fresh, I could immediately taste that this breakfast wasn’t what the standard usually is. My family and I are planning to come back again just to try the dinner menu! Special thanks to MJ at check out and the agent that assisted me at check in to ensure our rooms were beside each other. This is great location near downtown. The outdoor pool area was so relaxing and my nephew had a great time playing. I wish we would’ve had time to use the golf simulator! That was such a cool feature. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I can’t recommend this property enough!

We visited the hotel with my family for a sports tournament. The accommodations were very new and clean. After working in the service industry for over a decade, we will not be returning due to the head chef “Jimmie”. It is very unfortunate, but any establishment that would allow an employees to speak to children and adults visiting the hotel with a condescending and brash demeanor doesn’t respect their clientele enough to earn return guests. The front desk of the Tru Hilton hotel would be the only reason to return.
