Hotel Ballast Wilmington, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Amenities and location was great. However, the AC in my room was not working properly. The room stayed 74°. They moved us to another room the following night after several complaints. I've stayed there several times because the location is great but this is the wrong time of the year for the AC not to work properly. No cups were in our room but that was minor. The staff is always friendly though.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. I got there a little early and they let me check in about 30 minutes prior to the 4 o’clock check-in. The room was super clean and the hotel was pretty quiet for the most part. The hotel is right on the Cape fear River and has a very pretty outdoor area with a pool and fire pits and seating. It was windy and cold when we were there so we didn’t have the opportunity to use that stuff. I also used the workout room, which was pretty good. It had five treadmills and two bikes. It wasn’t very big, but it was clean and did the trick. They had a great little coffee shop on the lobby floor that had delicious coffee and the lobby was super warm where I could sit and chat with my business colleague. It’s also located right in old town and it’s super cute and lots of restaurants bars and ice cream shops to walk to

Worst hotel in my life, disgusting room and staff

Fantastic stay great customer service

The Ballast is a nice hotel downtown with a beautiful view of the river. My family had a good time at the pool and enjoyed the refreshments and food. You are a walking distance of so much we didn’t eat a lot of food from the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the room was cool and refreshing. I wish we had a refrigerator in our room but we made it work. Normal hotel issues, had to find a working ice machine and vending machines. Staff was friendly and helpful.

My room had no refrigerator nor microwave and the air conditioning was not working. The room stayed above 75° the entire time I was there they would not accommodate and get me another room as they were booked up. All they could give me was a fan they could not fix the AC.

Property is very dated and needs a major overhaul Elevators are challenging.

The hotel is very tired and in need of renovations. They are so booked the 4:00 checkin time is not guaranteed because the cleaning staff has so many rooms to prepare. There were a dozen people waiting in the lobby at 4:00 to get into their rooms. This new hotel group is only interested in room turnover, not updated and clean rooms.
