4.2/5Very GoodThe Windermere Hotel is just a stone throw away from the station. It's literally the best place you could stay if you want to be close to the railway station. Loving the exterior looks of it. Old Hotel; a maze when I get to my room though if I get through the other end, and perhaps we didn't hear the instructions correctly the first time, we still enter the wrong side in and walked up and down many stairs and make a lot of turns in that same level. (the room is at level 1) but eventually we figured out the 2nd round. Stayed for 1 night but we enjoyed the room as its huge, with a bath tub (there is even a towel warmer in the toilet which we love). Even though it's at level 1, this village is rather quiet at night at the area, unless you head to the shops. Cleanliness was 4/5, generally clean with a little dust everywhere. Breakfast was normal English breakfast, with rather limited choices but was good enough. Toaster ran too hot and uneven, and burned several toasts. Several guests had the same issue, and I figured to lower the top and switch to only 1 heating element to work. Do check with the hotel if you want to book some lake district tours as they have some discounts.

Good service, check in was smooth. The only complaint was during the stay we asked if any of the televisions in the hotel were playing the England football match and we were told no. But later when we came downstairs, there was a TV on in the lounge playing the game.
