Whilst I did not have high expectations for what is essentially a service station hotel, I was surprised at just how bad staying at this property was. Considering the price (£83 for one night), this has to be one of the worst values for money I’ve experienced on my travels. On arrival I was ‘welcomed’ by a receptionist who didn’t even stand out their seat, leaving me peering over the desk to converse. This was only the beginning. The room was cold and dark with an overwhelming smell of bleach throughout. The bathroom was dirty and in need of attention in multiple places. Perhaps most concerning, the lock had been sellotaped in place and had a visible gap around the outside, it had clearly been broken through in the past and did not lend for a sense of security. Perhaps the best part of the stay was leaving knowing I wouldn’t return.

Good quality rooms with bathrooms. Kettle, cups, tea, coffee, sugar and milk is all provided in the room. McDonalds and Costa coffee are next to the hotel. Receptionist Ann is so kind and very helpful!

Clean and comfortable if a bit tired. Friendly and welcoming service. No frills but amenities all available at on-site services (McDonalds, Costa, Shell). Very content and would stay here again for the same price.

This hotel did what we needed. The receptionist on arrival was very pleasant. But we absolutely won't be staying again. Buy cheap and get what you get... There really isn't anything more positive to write about. And this second paragraph has be wrote to get to 200 characters.

Ok for quick stay - parking a bit odd, v loud as near truck stop. but it wasn't dirty was reasonable

Stayed here as a cheap overnight stop. Hotel states it is pet friendly, i would not expect this to extend to the carpet in the room being COVERED IN PET HAIR. We were only there one night. The bed was awful and uncomfortable. There was lots of noise throughout the night. Doors slamming and people running through the corridor. When we left, very early in the morning as no one could sleep there was a dirty towel outside a door on the floor.
We tried for dinner to get a food delivery but very limited options available there too.
Could not pay me enough to stay again at a days inn.

Travelling from Portsmouth to Scotland and out of the port at about 7pm an excellent stopover to start off next day refreshed and already on the A34. Ann the manager was very wellcoming could not have been more helpful. She carries menus for local takeaways and they delivered to our door. The room was clean, comfortable and with TV, tea/coffee etc perfect for us. Would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending and will use in future.

Met our needs perfectly for a budget one night family stay although one room was a little cold overnight. Breakfast vouchers purchased at the hotel saved us £7.50 on breakfast at Costa/McDs.

Lady at reception was lovely, really helpful and kind. I wouldn’t rate the room very much, was not particularly clean. Very basic but for a quick one night stop was okay. Plenty of amenities on the service station.
