The Worcester Whitehouse Hotel

Me and my Husband spent one night here a couple of weeks ago in one of your four poster bedrooms. It was a surprise trip away that my Husband arranged for me so I had no idea I was going until we arrived there, and was our first night away from home without our Daughter. The room was beautiful. We had flowers, chocolates and Prosecco on the table, a large bathroom and a four-poster bed. Everything was spotless. We visited the bar downstairs that evening, which was nice with friendly staff, and we had breakfast in the buffet the next morning, which was all fresh and enjoyable. The bed was comfortable. The only issue we had (not the hotel’s fault as they can’t help where they are situated) is that being in the front of the hotel and above the main door that leads from the main road, it was noisy. However, it was a Saturday night and we were close to Whetherspoons and other pubs so maybe it would not be as noisy during the week. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again if we were in the area. I would just request a room on the back of the hotel.

We stayed here for 3 days this month, in one of the apartments. Everything about the accommodation was spot on, clean, tastefully and comfortably furnished, with all those small generous gestures which make you feel welcome, such as fresh milk in the fridge, dishwasher and laundry tablets. The views from the apartment took in a considerable aspect of the river Severn, sitting by the small balcony with the windows open, in the early morning, drinking coffee and watching the swans wake was perfect! In addition to the exceptions accommodation, is the restaurant. An extensive menu, we ate there each night and we still had plenty of other options we could have chosen from the menu. The food is well presented and delicious. Breakfast is served till 11, another generous consideration for guests, Bianca was a particularly polite and friendly member of staff at breakfast. I’d also thank Karen on reception, who is a congenial, warm and friendly front of house staff member, it was Karen’s interest in our initial enquiry which prompted us to book.

Room was fine, standard motel style. Pillows too soft and squidgy. Soap in bathroom had run out. Decent size room, ok for a motel. The food facilities at the service station were very poor at 8pm. The only food available was McDonalds, which I don't use, or WH Smith(!). The other places, noodles or rice seemed to have little left. I ended up with sandwiches and a bag of crisps. No proper hot meals, no chance of a glass of wine. Depressing atmosphere in the service station

We were lucky enough to park outside the hotel in the cricket club car park as they were out of season. We had no problem checking in on arrival and the room was lovely and clean with a beautiful view of the river opposite. The evening meals were excellent and so was the service of all staff members. The beds were really comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. The only let down was the cooked breakfast the following morning as it wasn't very warm and tasted a bit bland.. however the continental breakfast was fairly good. I choose this hotel for it's location, but overall our experience was really good and we'd definitely return.

Amy and her team went above and beyond to make us very welcome on what would have been a very busy and stressful 24hrs (the Queen arriving for the Maundy Money service). Nothing was too much trouble. She made my parents feel like royalty themselves!!
