Wuyi Mountain Villa

The hotel is located right inside the scenic area, at the foot of Mount Dawangfeng. Exiting the back gate, it's just a 100-200 meter walk to Wuyi Palace. Plus, there's no parking inside the scenic area, so parking for free at the hotel saved us a few hundred yuan in parking fees (I saw many people driving from out of town, thinking there would be parking at the scenic entrance, only to end up paying 15 yuan/hour to park behind Wuyishan Villa). My husband and I managed to grab tickets for the bamboo raft漂流 (bamboo rafting), and after we finished, we saw two cars with license plates from our hometown looking for parking spots near Wuyi Palace entrance. We recommended they stay here too. Initially, we were assigned a room on the first floor, and it had a bit of a musty smell. We immediately saw a dehumidifier, suggesting it was quite damp. My husband called the front desk to ask if we could switch rooms, and they said there was one available on the second floor. It was definitely a wise decision to switch. The view from the second floor was excellent; we could overlook the garden pond below and even spotted two large white geese from the balcony (I wonder if they'll ever be caught to make Wuyi smoked goose?). **Facilities:** We stayed in Building 1. The room was newly renovated, contrary to some reviews mentioning old facilities. The room was very spacious, although the 1.8-meter bed felt a bit small; a 2-meter king-size bed would have been better. Upon check-in, we received Dahongpao tea, Wuyi Mountain spring water, and welcome fruits. We could enjoy tea on the balcony while admiring the lush green view. **Environment:** It was very quiet. The hotel itself is like a landscaped garden, with many commemorative trees planted by leaders. If we hadn't been in a hurry to leave, my husband said he would have wanted to stay another day. **Service:** For dinner, we decided against trying the popular influencer-recommended restaurants outside and chose to dine at the hotel instead. The Wuyi smoked goose and red-eyed fish were both excellent. The Dahongpao pork trotters were a chef's special, and the tea leaves in it were crispy and fragrant, tasting almost like tea-flavored potato chips.

This is an established, reputable hotel with a strong cultural ambiance. Its architectural style perfectly embodies the principle of 'suited to local character, not foreign; low-rise, not tall,' masterfully blending features of northern Fujian folk houses with the charm of Jiangnan gardens. It's lauded as a 'heavenly abode on earth' and the 'Wuyishan State Guesthouse,' with its name penned by Liu Haisu himself. Reportedly, Wuyishan Villa was included in 'Twentieth Century World Architectural Masterpieces' in 1995 and listed among the first batch of 'China's 20th Century Architectural Heritage' in 2016. Its location is superb, right at the foot of Dawang Peak and Manting Peak! The buildings are spread out, following the natural contours of the mountain, and are organically connected by winding corridors and walkways. This creates a garden-like atmosphere where every step reveals a new vista, making the entire complex feel like unpolished jade scattered amongst the mountains and forests. It's truly worth experiencing.

The service was excellent, and the staff were very enthusiastic, helping us with our luggage. The room was perfect for a family trip, and the kids especially loved the family-friendly room type. The hotel environment is great, and it's very close to Wuyi Palace, just a short walk away. The hygiene was good, and the service was attentive, with a variety of fresh fruits provided daily. Breakfast was also abundant.

Excellent location, just a 5-minute walk from Wuyi Palace and close to the tourist shuttle hub. The service was exceptional, especially a big shout-out to Xu Shiying from the housekeeping department. The Chinese restaurant offered authentic and delicious dishes.

The environment is absolutely beautiful, typical of a resort hotel, making it a perfect place for relaxation and fun. The location is especially fantastic. Just 200 meters down, you'll find the Wuyigong tourist bus stop, which provides easy access to Shuiguangyan, Dawangfeng, and the entrance, all conveniently located right below the hotel.

The hotel environment is absolutely lovely, right at the foot of the mountain, very natural and untouched. Breakfast variety depends on the number of guests; if there are many, the selection is richer, but if there are few, options are limited. It's a bit dated, but the facilities are complete, and overall it's pretty good. The environment truly is excellent.

The front desk service is excellent, the accommodation environment is beautiful, I've stayed here multiple times, and the breakfast is rich and varied. Highly recommended.

Five-star rating for the front desk and lobby staff – they were incredibly warm and attentive. The hotel's location and surroundings are also great. However, the pool opening hours are too late. My kids were really looking forward to the pool, but it doesn't open until 3 PM, so we completely missed out. Also, the breakfast area was stifling hot; it's just not right to not have air conditioning on in this weather.

They even gave us a souvenir when we checked out. The front desk staff were great, always smiling. Our room was clean and tidy, and it was quiet. The only downside was the restaurant staff, who were a bit stingy. My 4-year-old daughter took two extra eggs back to the room, and someone came over to scold her and even took a picture. I was speechless.
