Parador de Javea

This is our second stay at the Xabia Parador and will definitely return whenever in the area. It has parking, is modern and comfortable. The staff were all very welcoming. Our superior rooms on the 4th floor seem to have been remodeled. We enjoyed the shower/no tub in the bathroom. Everything ran smoothly. Breakfast was fine.

This parador is one of our favourites as the staff are very attentive and the views are exceptional. However there are some issues which will stop us returning, sadly. For some bizarre reason the bedroom aircon is switched off out side of the summer season, which meant that our stay this time was unbearably hot at night. We would love to have had the patio door open but we were eaten alive by mosquitos and all the hotel could offer us was a fan to move the hot air around. We had three awful lights sleep, or lack of sleep. Who made such a stupid decision as to deny good paying guests the ability to have control over their own room temperature. There was an awful smell coming from the drains in our bathroom, which was probably due to an ill fitting seal on the toilet. We enjoy sitting in the bar at the end of the evening and having a glass or two of wine. On Saturday and Sunday nights, there was delightful lady serving who was attentive and quite jolly, however on the Monday night a young girl was serving who was clearly more interested in talking to her friends in the dinning room rather than looking after customers. When we rang the bell for service she had left the receiver behind the bar so we had to go in search of her to get a drink, nor Parador standards this trip at all.

we stayed here for our honeymoon which we had told them in advance so I was upset to have a room with twin beds and not any acknowledgement we had just got married. we turned the bed around and sorted that we were 3rd floor view was amazing and most of the staff polite but found reception a bit offish. Could not fault the cleaning girls every day and always helpful. Breakfast good.

Excellent view and service. Room needs air-conditiong upgrade. Very good breakfast and high higienic standards.

Very poor experience. We would not recommend this hotel. We stayed for 5 nights. The staff really let this hotel down. The majority of staff were very rude and unhelpful. Reception staff were shockingly bad and the worst I've ever experienced in a hotel! No information about the hotel or facilities in the rooms or that you have to dial 9 to speak to reception. We stayed in superior rooms on the 4th floor and both only had a walk in shower despite being told all rooms had baths other than 1 disabled access room. The hotel is a 3 star at best. It is very dated. The condition of the paths leading to and around the pool are dangerous especially for elderly or guests with mobility constraints. Trip hazards everywhere. We saw one lady fall out of her wheelchair due to hitting the uneven path and hurt herself very badly. Staff were cold and uncaring. Breakfast was shambolic. No cups or cutlery on tables. An hour wait for 2 fried eggs! Very few staff on hand and most ignored our repeated requests for help. Buffet food ran out early and not replenished despite breakfast being served until 11am. We visited to celebrate our parents 80th birthdays. A token gesture in the room or even a mere mention of the ocassion on arrival would have been a nice touch and appreciated. There was nothing which was very disappointing. Sadly the worst experience we have had at a Parador. Positives are few but the rooms although tired were very clean. The house keeping ladies were really lovely and very good. Location is very good and is close to many great restaurants, bars and the beach and the bedrooms have interesting views of the sea and wider resort.

This was our 4th time staying at the Parador. It has a beautiful view of the sea, sun, sand and of course the hotel itself. The Reception Staff are so very helpful and accommodating every time we asked for anything. The hospitality staff really work hard in that heat and they need a salute for all their hard work not many guests acknowledged them which is a shame. And lastly the cleaners. Mina cleaning was immaculate just loved it when we used to come back after going out for the day. We tried not to be messy and told another cleaner sorry don't know her name who spoke english and said to her sorry for the mess and she said no worries just enjoy your holiday.
