The hotel's location is excellent, with plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options nearby. Although the room is small, it's fully equipped with everything you need and is clean and tidy. We had a very comfortable stay and found it to be great value for money.

Facilities: Relatively new. Hygiene: Very clean and tidy. Environment: Elegant. Service: Attentive. I stayed here during the October 1st holiday, and the transportation was convenient and the price was affordable. It was easy to get everywhere, the front desk service was enthusiastic, and the recommended tour guide service was very conscientious and responsible.

I booked a luxury double room for a four-night stay. They offered airport pick-up, which sounded good, but it was actually outsourced to a third-party tour company. It was free for two people, but additional people had to pay 30 yuan. Fine, I paid, but the car was like a cargo van! When I checked in, I asked if I could get a free room upgrade since I was staying for four nights. The young guy at the front desk seemed clueless and asked his female supervisor, who was wearing glasses. She said I had booked a luxury room already and upgrading to the next level would cost over a hundred yuan, so no upgrade. I then asked if I could use my free upgrade voucher from Trip.com, as I booked through them. The supervisor said that wasn't possible either. Alright, whatever you say then – free upgrades from Trip.com don't work at Mercure hotels. The room itself was large and clean, but breakfast was a bit underwhelming. It was 58 yuan per person, and not even as good as the 38 yuan breakfast at Atour hotels. The free afternoon tea consisted of simple snacks and pastries, pretty much the same every day.

Very close to the Bell Tower, spacious room, parking available, excellent and thoughtful service. The breakfast was rich and delicious. Be sure to try the restaurant shown in the photo, it's tasty and affordable.

The family room is thoughtfully designed with a combination of a large bed and a small bed. The breakfast is also very hearty. It's close to the Bell Tower, and you can hear the hourly chime, which adds a nice vintage charm. Turn left and walk a short distance to reach the Muslim Quarter. The location is superb, yet it's peaceful amidst the bustle—very friendly for someone like me who has sleep issues 🧑🤝🧑

Overall, it was good. I really liked the laundry room, the breakfast was rich, and the room was clean and tidy. The only issue was that the duvet wasn't breathable enough, making it hot at night. Everything else was great, and there were hot drinks at the front desk, plus a late-night snack service! 😄

Unfortunately i didn't take many pictures but recorded videos. I booked a room type as shown in the first but received something smaller as the one in the second pic, weirdly cut. I didn't notice it as first as i was distracted by the strong smoke smell and asked the lady to change, who tried to sell me a qin shi huang mausoleum tour. Then i was brought to a room type as the one in the first pic, that's when i realised that's what i initially had booked... but there was still a smoke smell and as i really had to use the toilet i simply thought of using the A/C and opening the window, hoping it'd get better. By the evening i got startled by someone knocking at the door only to realise it was someone knocking on my neighbouring door. That's when i realised there was a 1-2cm gap between the floor and door and why i heard that loud knock. I also noticed neighbouring doors were fine and even asked the neighbouring guests if they could hear me. Anyway; that's when i demanded for a second change and only then, when i was a bit assertive and insisting on a new room, did i get a proper room. But there was small issue with the 3rd room too, with the drainage as the water took around 5mins to flow away, making noise. But that wasn't an big issue. It seems like this hotel seems to follow the procedure to give problematic rooms to customers who seem easy-going, which is a known tactic to chinese people from china but not so to foreigners. Beside of that, my stay was pleasant, the breakfast was rich and they have a big variety. I just think it was a bit of a waste of time trying to sell those tobacco smell rooms to me. You can easily fix those by endorsing proper no smoking rules or use a filter machine before, removing smoke. Beside of the convenience as it's really close to all main attractions i just find those actions subpar. Which is an issue with whoever decides to implement such strategies.

The location is great, just a 7-minute walk to the Bell Tower, making it super convenient to get to all the tourist spots. There are direct buses downstairs that go to various attractions. The dining and hygiene are excellent, especially the smart toilet, which is quite rare at this price point. Downsides: 1. It's a bit too close to the Bell Tower, so the morning chimes are very loud and might wake up late sleepers (earplugs are provided in the room). 2. We booked a standard room, but it has an open-plan bathroom. There's no door separating the bathroom from the bedroom, so when one person is getting ready, it can disturb the other.

I had such a great stay — the room was modern, spotless, and super comfortable. The huge shower room was the best part! The staff were absolutely wonderful and big thanks to them for offering an upgrade which made the stay extra pleasant. The location of the hotel made exploring the key attractions a breeze. It has convenient access the metro as well. Breakfast had a nice mix of local and international dishes. The overall vibe was warm and welcoming, making it a place I’d happily return to and recommend to others.

This was my first time experiencing traditional Dragon Boat Festival crafts at a hotel. I learned about the customs behind the festival sachets while making a琉璃 (liuli, glazed pottery) bracelet. The environment was elegant and quiet, making the holiday feel truly special. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for future festivals.

The room was spacious and cleaned promptly. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially Ms. Zhao, who handled the airport transfer – she was incredibly warm and thoughtful. The only slight letdown was the breakfast; it was a bit disappointing and not worth the extra cost.

The room was great – clean, bright, and the kids loved it too. Recommended!
