Shimo Youzou Riyue Yingyin Scenic Apartment (Gulangyu Sanqiutian Pier)

During the Easter holiday, my family visited Gulangyu Island in Xiamen and stayed at a guesthouse. The owner was very friendly and gave us a map and recommended attractions and food. We booked a two-room apartment close to the pier. The night view was stunning.

When traveling, the simple hope is to get some rest, but this room, at least this one, is truly unacceptable. This room is on the left side of the first floor, near Lin's Restaurant. While it has a window, it faces a small alley, making it very close to the neighbors. While the restaurant next door is also a partner restaurant and the owners are all family, it's a bit too intimate for travelers. People from outside can probably see into the rooms. I could even hear your conversations from inside, haha. Whether it's the bathroom window or the bedside window, I felt something bump when I opened it. The soundproofing is truly as bad as the negative reviews say: poor. The sounds of running water from the upstairs shower late at night, the neighbors chatting in the morning, and the blast of speakers were constant. Sleeping in was impossible, and late checkout was impossible 😮💨. The room looked like it hadn't been lived in for ages. The drawers held cups and toiletries, and the coasters, which had been dried in the shade after getting wet, were incredibly wrinkled and infested with bugs. I told the owner about this, but they didn't replace them. So I asked for disposable cups instead of the ones provided. There were several small, cocoon-shaped insects on the walls of the room. That's great. My office in Guangdong also had these bugs; they weren't harmful, but they were disgusting. Your hotel really made me feel at home. When I booked the room, I had chosen a non-smoking option, but there was an ashtray in the room. When I first approached the owner to address the issue, he was lighting a cigarette in front of the courtyard door and then walked into the room with the cigarette between his fingers. 🌚😇 Disposable slippers had to be requested from the front desk, and they quickly fell apart when they arrived. The headboard was chipped, and I was worried there might be bugs in it, but the owner explained it was damaged when I moved in. The cleanliness seemed poor. The walls were dirty, and the bathroom sink, walls, and floor all looked filthy. The description of a public beach refers to the island's public beach, not the hotel itself. I hope everyone will not ignore negative reviews, even if there's only one; it's the heartfelt opinion of the guest.

The hotel is located on Gulangyu Island, less than 1 km from Sanqiutian Wharf. It's very quiet in the mountains. Nearby are some of the island's few convenience stores open until the early morning. It's next to the Longshan Tunnel (a famous tourist attraction). It's not far from Longshan Road Snack Street and Sunlight Rock. It's a little far from the beach, but it's acceptable. The only thing we need to improve is the cleanliness! It's a good place to stay in Gulangyu Island at this price.

Very cozy B&B, took the elderly and children around Gulangyu Island, stayed for one night and was very comfortable, the B&B was clean and quiet, there was not even a mosquito in the room, the breakfast made by the aunt was very delicious, I can stay here again, highly recommended, friends from other places can choose, it is very close to Sanqiutian Pier, and it is also convenient to eat nearby
