Before my trip, I did some online research and found that GreenTree Eastern was the top-rated comfortable hotel on Zhongshan Road, and it's located right on the pedestrian street. Since it was my first time in Xiamen, I wanted to stay somewhere central, so I chose this one. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was very friendly and efficient with the check-in process. They even upgraded me for free to a room with a balcony – it was October in Xiamen, and the refreshing sea breeze felt amazing! It's not far from Gulangyu Island, Putuo Temple, Xiamen University, the Eight Market, and other attractions. The metro station is also close by! Excellent value for money!

The hotel's location is a huge plus – just a 2-minute walk to the beach, and all the best restaurants and supermarkets are right there, making getting around super convenient. The room was impeccably clean, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The shower had hot water in 3 seconds flat with perfect water pressure, which was amazing for washing away travel fatigue. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and efficient, proactively recommending local hidden gems. Their attention to detail was truly impressive. The breakfast buffet offered a rich variety of options. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in town and have already recommended it to my friends!

Don't get me wrong, China has improved so much! I was really impressed by the Atour brand on my last trip in Nanjing. This time, after doing some research, I booked two rooms for our entire stay in Xiamen. They have locations all over the city, and I chose one right in town, it was super convenient for getting everywhere! When I checked in, I saw the receptionist mostly by young people. I didn't expect too much of service at first, as long as the rooms were clean and the location was good. But they totally changed my mind! Even though they're young, they were so professional in how they handled everything. Their service style is smart and casual. They actually remember who you are, and my interactions with them were great, especially with Jia and another guy (I didn't catch his name) at check-in. Besides, the breakfast had plenty of choices. My parents are vegetarian, and even they loved it! Anyway, overall, we were super impressed with this hotel. Highly recommended!

To stay at Xiamen’s tallest building, especially at this price, is just amazing. Waking up to views of the city and the surrounding mountains is a lovely start to the day. The room is spacious, and I would love to have sat down to have tea while watching the sky change. Below the apartment is a mall, so you literally have everything at your feet. Do contact the property before arriving!

The contrasting fair-faced concrete walls and wooden grilles create a sophisticated yet understated ambiance. * **Comfortable Rooms:** The rooms are designed with natural wood tones and white, enhanced by cotton and linen textiles, giving them a warm and inviting atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide abundant natural light. Some rooms even boast balconies with views overlooking Nanputuo Temple or the cityscape. The bedding is of excellent quality, ensuring a comfortable stay. * **Attentive Service:** The staff are incredibly warm, enthusiastic, and thoughtful. The room is large, clean and beautiful, very suitable for taking photos and checking in. There is a bathtub in the large French window, and you can see Gulangyu Island and the sea outside the window. You can watch the sunset in the evening. In such a good location, it is a good deal to stay in a room with a sea view at this price. There are many attractions around. We didn't walk far, but went to the nearby Shapowei, Baicheng Beach, and Botanical Garden. It was very good to visit, and the children especially liked it. There is a parking lot downstairs, and parking is very convenient. There is also Shimao Shopping Mall, which is convenient for life. It is great in all aspects!

The room looks exactly like the photos online. The building has apartment-style management, so everyone checking in has to register and have their face scanned at the downstairs property management office, which makes you feel very safe. It's located right by the World Trade Center Twin Towers, making shopping, getting around, and dining super convenient. Xiamen University, Nanputuo Temple, Shapowei, and the Botanical Garden are all nearby. You can see Gulangyu Island right through the floor-to-ceiling windows in the room, and the night view is stunning. The room's hygiene was excellent, with disposable bath towels, toilet seat covers, and bathtub covers all provided. The only downside was that the pillows weren't very comfortable; I'd suggest improving those. The room size is about 30 square meters.

This is a great hotel! Smallish rooms, but near tourist sites (Xiamen University, seaside, Shapowei). Rooms are comfortable and staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel consists of two buildings. My room was in building 2 (the annex, opposite the main building), which was fine. At first, I was a little worried about noise, as my room directly overlooked the entrance to the main building. But in fact, the hotel was surprisingly quiet, which was great! Not even much noise from other rooms, except some light muffled sounds. Much better than the average poorly soundproofed Chinese hotel, which in itself is a reason for me to highly recommend this hotel. The only negative point was that there's clearly some kind of leak in the bathroom, meaning there was all the time a small puddle of water near the toilet (other than that, it was fine). It was great to be able to use the washing machine for free (receptionist helped with that and even provided washing detergent for free). This area is popular with tourists, so some parts were crowded (in the past, I have stayed in other areas of Xiamen which perhaps as an area I preferred). I loved the network of little alleys that the hotel is located in though, which (unlike nearby Shapowei tourist area) seemed quaint and authentic. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again.

The selection is abundant, and the food tastes great. Especially the freshly cooked noodle station and coffee, which are very refreshing. The staff promptly cleared dishes, making for a very good experience. The breakfast variety is very comprehensive, with both Chinese and Western options. The bread and pastries are particularly outstanding. The environment is clean and tidy, making for a beautiful start to the morning. A great value buffet breakfast. The ingredients are fresh and replenished promptly. I especially love their fruits and yogurts, which come in a wide variety.
