Hotels in Zhongshan Road Area, Xiamen

Before my trip, I did some online research and found that GreenTree Eastern was the top-rated comfortable hotel on Zhongshan Road, and it's located right on the pedestrian street. Since it was my first time in Xiamen, I wanted to stay somewhere central, so I chose this one. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was very friendly and efficient with the check-in process. They even upgraded me for free to a room with a balcony – it was October in Xiamen, and the refreshing sea breeze felt amazing! It's not far from Gulangyu Island, Putuo Temple, Xiamen University, the Eight Market, and other attractions. The metro station is also close by! Excellent value for money!

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel! The location is very convenient as well. The hotel is right by the roadside: if you walk to the left and cross one traffic light, you’ll reach Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street; if you walk to the right and cross a traffic light, you’ll arrive at the Eighth Market (Ba Shi). Taking a taxi or didi to the ferry terminal is also easy and quick. It’s a great area for sightseeing. The hotel staff were warm and friendly. The front desk helping with the parcels were very attentive. The aunty at the noodle station was also lovely, the noodles served in early morning were delicious. The housekeeping aunties kept the room very clean, which made the stay comfortable. Thank you for all the good service! Overall, it’s great value for money, with a convenient location and friendly service. Highly recommended!

I didn't take any photos of the room. We only checked in after 11 PM, and the air conditioning wasn't very cool. I had to ask staff to adjust it before it started blowing cold. The hotel is right by the main road and extremely close to the subway station. However, during the day, you can hear traffic noise, as well as the sound of chairs and tables being dragged in the adjacent room. The hotel facilities are excellent; the availability of a washing machine and dryer is a huge plus. The breakfast selection was a bit limited, but the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to arrange for a late check-out and free luggage storage in advance, which was very convenient for our trip.

I can't praise the hotel's facilities and amenities enough! The room's mattress is from a well-known brand, offering great support, so I woke up feeling completely refreshed the next day. The pillows come in various firmness levels, catering to different preferences. In the bathroom, the faucet had a smooth water flow and precise temperature control. There's also storage space under the sink, keeping clutter neatly organized. All the amenities are practical and thoughtfully designed. The hotel's facilities offer excellent value for money! The TV offers a wide range of programs, including news, movies, and variety shows, satisfying diverse interests. The air conditioning runs almost silently, not disturbing my rest. All the equipment works perfectly, making for a very comfortable stay.

Five-star recommendation for Yidu Trend House! A hidden gem of a place, quiet despite being in a bustling commercial district, full of tranquility. There are plenty of great local eateries nearby – flatbreads and sweet soups are definitely worth trying. The room was clean and comfortable, the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the afternoon tea was a lovely touch. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and all the thoughtful details were super healing. Excellent value for money. I will definitely book again next time!!

First off, let's talk about the location – it's an absolute godsend for anyone who relies on public transport. The hotel is right next to the BRT station; you can walk out of the lobby and be at the station in just 5 minutes. No transfers needed to get to popular attractions, which is super convenient and stress-free. There's a supermarket, convenience stores, and unique local restaurants all around. After a long day of sightseeing, you can just pop downstairs to grab some fruit and snacks without having to go out of your way. Plus, the dot-dot service was also excellent.

The service was incredibly thoughtful, and the facilities were excellent. The cleaning staff tidied up daily, so the room was always spotless when I returned. It was super convenient for exploring. Since I was traveling alone, the lovely staff even upgraded my room type, which was a very nice touch. They also sent me travel and local food guides on WeChat, which were incredibly detailed and ensured I wouldn't hit any duds. The hotel is close to Shapowei, Xiamen University, Nanputuo Temple, and Baicheng Beach, all of which are on the same coastal road. You can see the beautiful sea views all along the way just by taking one bus. Gulangyu Island is definitely worth a visit, just make sure to wear comfortable shoes, haha, otherwise, all that walking uphill will be super, super tiring! I'd definitely come back again if I have the chance. Oh, and the front desk staff, both the guys and the girls, were all really attentive and sweet~

Traveling to Xiamen with my family, I spent a lot of time looking for accommodation online. Since I had elderly relatives with me, I thought it would be more convenient to stay near Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, so I chose the Yonglida Garden Hotel. The location is excellent, right on Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, near the intersection, making it very easy to call a taxi. The room size is quite generous, and I have to mention the breakfast, which is served until 12:00 PM – that definitely deserves praise. However, the soundproofing in the rooms isn't great; you can clearly hear everything happening upstairs, like the toilet flushing. This really needs improvement.

We had an unforgettable time in Xiamen during the Dragon Boat Festival, made even better by our stay at the Fenghwei Lanxi Seaview Hotel for two nights. The hotel’s location was extremely convenient, with popular attractions like Gulangyu Island just a short distance away. The surrounding area offered fantastic restaurants and a stunning coastline, making our stay both enjoyable and hassle-free. Our room was cozy, clean, and surprisingly welcoming—despite its compact size, it had a warm, homely feel. The breathtaking view, incredibly comfortable bed, and the attentive cleaning staff all contributed to a truly satisfying experience. Overall, we were thoroughly impressed and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Xiamen!

First off, this isn't about the staff; their work was perfectly fine, their attitudes and everything were great. The environment was impeccable, and the location was excellent, with Gulangyu Island directly across from our sea-view room. If it hadn't been for the room upgrade, I probably wouldn't have found any issues with this stay. I originally booked a Deluxe Sea View Room, but the front desk said it was fully booked. The only remaining room was directly facing the elevator. To get away from the elevator, an Executive Room was the only option, so I chose to upgrade. The Executive Room came with many extra perks (see picture), but seriously, are these so-called 'services' really designed with customer needs in mind? Honestly, if you didn't offer these services, I wouldn't even think about it. But if you're going to offer them, be generous and don't be so stingy. You offer an 80-yuan laundry voucher that can't be stacked, and you can only use 80 yuan per day. For two people, that's not even enough to wash two t-shirts. If a guest only stays for one night, they can't even enjoy this service because clothes have to be dropped off before 8 AM (before check-in) and aren't ready until 6 PM the next evening (check-out is at 12 PM). So, the housekeeping staff directly refused to take our dirty laundry. Free two-hour meeting room, free printing, free phone calls, free computer use—wow! So many freebies!!! Seriously, who uses these nowadays? Then there's the 50-yuan hotel car voucher. A single ride starts at 260 yuan, even if you're going less than 5 km, and it's only for destinations within the island. Isn't giving out this 50-yuan voucher just annoying? Oh, and there's a 128-yuan massage voucher, for massages that start at 400 yuan. Either you generously offer a proper, genuinely useful free service that everyone would use, like a free airport transfer, a free laundry service, or a free massage, etc., or just don't offer anything at all. People who can afford executive floors aren't looking for these petty discounts. But it's really quite irritating to list so many things that 99% of people won't use. And your executive lounge – hardly anyone goes up there anyway. The juices are all concentrated; they're not even willing to offer freshly squeezed. They claim it's available 'all day'. When checking out, I thought since it was a weekend and occupancy was high, I didn't want to inconvenience subsequent guests. Even though I could have extended my check-out, I decided not to, and just planned to go to the executive lounge to wait for my high-speed train for about an hour after regular check-out. I was refused. There's nothing in the executive lounge during the day anyway, just a few bottles of water. I wasn't some regular floor guest trying to sneak in; why couldn't I even sit in the executive lounge for a bit???? So then I decided to just extend my check-out, and they reluctantly granted it, citing high occupancy. I was speechless. I stayed for three nights and only went to the 26th floor once. I really don't understand who benefits from all these 'rules' and 'freebies' you've set up. For guests planning to travel here, setting aside these 'additional services' of the executive floor, everything else is pretty good. If you book an executive floor, remember to check in before 6 PM on the first day, and when checking out, strongly insist on a late check-out until 2 PM! Oh, and if you order takeout, it's best to have the delivery rider wait for you in the lobby and pick it up yourself. Otherwise, they won't be allowed into the lobby and will put your food in a locker, which then requires you to register, log in, enter a password, personal information, and a bunch of other messy stuff first. Their robots only deliver the hotel's own food.
