Grand New Century Hotel Xiangshui

Ms. Qian at the front desk was incredibly friendly and gave us a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe twin room. The room itself was exceptionally spacious and fully equipped, featuring a large bathtub that could be filled with hot spring water for a relaxing soak. Welcome fruits were a nice touch. There's also an indoor swimming pool in the building opposite; just remember to bring your own swimwear, goggles, and cap. It's open until 9 PM. Furthermore, the breakfast spread was extensive, offering a wide variety of delicious options, and was served until 9:30 AM. The only downside was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the large room when we first entered, likely from a previous guest. We had to open the windows and turn on the exhaust fan, and it still took most of the day for the smell to somewhat dissipate. I hope housekeeping can thoroughly ventilate rooms if they detect any smoke, as second-hand smoke is really unpleasant.

The room we initially booked felt a bit small, as we were traveling with several children this time. The front desk staff recommended a membership card, and by purchasing it, we were able to upgrade all our rooms to suites – truly excellent value for money! Breakfast was also delicious, and the service was outstanding.

I absolutely have to give this hotel a full five-star rating; it's hands down the best value-for-money hotel I've ever stayed at. We arrived quite late, and the kind lady at the front desk, seeing we had two children, proactively upgraded us to a suite. It was truly enormous, featuring a fantastic wet/dry bathroom separation and a perfect bathtub. The hotel appears to be managed by the county's investment company, which explains why everything felt so professional and well-regulated. The pool facilities are also high-end. Next time we're in the area, this will definitely be our first choice for accommodation. Highly, highly recommend it – just book it!

The water from the sink was murky, as you can see in the photo. For a hot spring hotel, this place fell short of even the most basic operational standards.

Overall, the hotel is quite good. Perhaps because it's not a major tourist destination, it offers excellent value for money. The reception area is particularly tranquil, which I really appreciated. The location is also very good; it's close to the Aegean Sea Mall, making dining and shopping extremely convenient. We originally booked a king-sized suite, but the kind lady at the front desk noticed we had a child and thoughtfully switched us to a twin-bed suite. She even included an extra complimentary breakfast, which was a very nice touch! The suites were indeed very spacious. The bathtub in one could probably fit a family of three, and the view from the room was also great. We've stayed here twice. On one occasion, our suite overlooked the Aegean Sea Mall; this particular suite was noticeably larger, boasting two restrooms and a more spacious main bathroom. The other time, we had a suite with a park view. This one only had a single, smaller restroom, and the living room lacked a sofa. However, the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a stunning panoramic view of lush greenery – truly impressive! The only slight downside was perhaps the breakfast. It finishes at 9:30 AM, but when we went a little after 8:30 AM, some items were not being replenished, and several dishes were already cold, which was a bit disappointing. Despite these minor points, overall we were very satisfied. The swimming pool was also a big hit with our kids!

Hands down the best hotel in Xiangshui! The facilities are excellent, and it's spotlessly clean. The front desk even gave me a complimentary upgrade during my weekday stay. Breakfast was incredibly generous, truly superb.

Honestly, I completely underestimated the hospitality in Xiangshui! For just 400 RMB, I got a massive suite! Having stayed at hotels like Haier InterContinental, Le Méridien West Coast, and Grand Wyndham Silver Beach on my journey from Qingdao, the Xiangshui New Century Hot Spring Resort absolutely blew them all out of the water! I will definitely stay here again next time I'm passing through!
