This hotel is a bit old but the service is excellent. Room with river view is worth the extra $.

We absolutely loved this stay and would recommend it to all travellers! We booked the corner room. The room was well illuminated by natural light during the day and we could see the river from our room. At night we could even hear the water flowing. There were two western single beds but we asked for futons for the full Japanese experience and loved it! The room was spacious and clean. There was a bathtub in the bathroom but we used the public bath (male and female separated) which was amazing. The public bath was quiet and spacious and there was a sauna room. Breakfast was served during 7am -830am with a well set table as shown in the picture. The staff was super kind. Just note that the walls were thin and you should expect some noise but people here are generally used to keeping their voice down. Another highlight is that you can take the bus of both the red and blue lines at the bus stop right in front of the hotel. (The blue line is for Shiratani Unsuikyo.). It is very convenient if you are not driving. The hotel is around 25 mins away from the ferry port and the walk there was pleasant and not difficult to find. Yet another great thing about this place is that you can rent mountaineering gear here at a cheap price, including shoes and rain protection. We rented the shoes here at 1,xxx yen per person (forgot the exact price) and they were very useful. It was raining for almost the whole 5h hike for us and the shoes offered a good grip and were sufficiently waterproof. You can also find little souvenirs at their shop. Honestly, it's impeccable!

The river view room has a beautiful scenery, with an extremely clear blue-green river outside the window. Breakfast and dinner are fresh local ingredients, mainly fish. There is a bus stop at the door: Ohara Town.

It felt like an old-fashioned inn. If you return at night, there is no hot water, so you end up taking a cold bath. We stayed with four people, and the room was spacious and comfortable. It was a little disappointing that there were not many electrical outlets. Breakfast was fish, udon noodles, and other dishes that warmed both the body and soul. It was delicious.

I visited Yakushima to see the Jomon Cedar. The staff at the front desk and during meals were very kind and chatted with me in a friendly manner. The inside of the building is not what I would call clean, but it gives the impression of a good old inn.

The location is quiet, and there are buses to and from Baigu Yunshui Gorge at the door. There are different dishes for dinner every day, and the staff is friendly and kind.

The room is very comfortable and it is very convenient to go to the scenic spots. I like it very much after climbing the mountain and taking a hot spring bath.

Although the hotel facilities are not very new, the environment is quiet, the rooms are large, there is a large bathtub for bathing, and breakfast and dinner are included. Both the counter and the restaurant are full of veteran employees. The service is friendly and considerate. There is also airport pick-up and drop-off. There is a supermarket nearby. The CP value is very high. I will choose it again next time I come to Yakushima.

My family and I stayed here for our first visit to Yakushima. As it was the middle of February, the facility had an off-season vibe and felt partially deserted. We enjoyed our stay, but the aging infrastructure and somewhat spartan conditions didn't lend themselves to comfortable accommodations. We may explore other options on the island when we visit next time.

On the day of the Jomon Cedar tour, I was tired and wanted to get some rest, so I asked for dinner. I was told it would be 4400 yen. When I made the reservation, I told them that I don't like raw fish, so I asked them to avoid it, but the sashimi was so solid that when I said I couldn't eat it, they first asked me, ``Why don't you put it in the pot?'' which I couldn't accept. So I asked for a change, and instead of sashimi, I was served sashimi-style slices of yam. By the way, the other side dishes were a yose nabe with small shrimp and fishballs, two pieces of fish cake, a side dish and a small piece of grilled fish, rice and soup with clams, and fruit. I can't accept this for 4,400 yen, and even though I was trying to reward myself for working hard on the Jomon Cedar trek, I feel disappointed and angry. I didn't feel welcomed at all. The next day, we had a wonderful meal made with local ingredients at a nearby izakaya for about the same price, and regret that if we had known, we should have chosen this place from the beginning.

It was convenient because I could walk to a well-regarded restaurant called Shiosai in Miyanoura. I think it would be nice to rent a car and be close to Shiratani Unsuikyo. The public bath was also spacious and relaxing. However, the walls were thin and I could hear the noise from the guests next door. I slept without worrying. Breakfast was salmon fillet and raw*. It appears to be an inn that often accommodates tour groups. After seeing the photo of Mt. Tachu-dake Tenbushi-ishi at this inn, I decided to come back to Yakushima to climb Mt. Tachu-dake Tenbushi-ishi and stay at this inn. I have no complaints as it was a reasonably priced accommodation and it was the closest to Shiratani Unsuikyo, which was my main goal.

It is a long-established inn and the building has an old impression, but it doesn't feel dilapidated and is clean and well-kept, so I was able to spend a comfortable time there. The food was delicious! Everyone, including the waitress, the front desk staff, and the shuttle bus staff, were very kind and hospitable. It's located along the Miyanoura River, and being able to see the beautiful scenery so close to it was a great memory. If I come to Yakushima again someday, I would definitely like to stay here!

An old-fashioned inn. It is an inn near Shiratani Unsuikyo Gorge. There is a drip-type coffee server at the front desk. It costs ¥300. Yakushima's water is soft, so it's delicious. There is a small souvenir shop and a rental for mountain climbing goods. There is also a dryer, which reminded me of a guesthouse at a ski resort. The room is about 8 tatami mats in size and has a veranda, making it spacious. It has a unit bath. They don't clean the room (don't disturb), but instead give you a bottle of Yakushima's soft water. They leave new towels for you. The large bath has hot water. There are about 8 faucets. The shower stops automatically, so you have to press the bar each time. There is a TV, air conditioner, empty refrigerator, and Wi-Fi. The futon is fluffy and there are no problems!
