Reviews of Zao Kokusai Hotel

Both the service and facilities are top-notch.

Very nice hotspring facility, both indoor and outdoor. Service is exceptional, there is a shuttle that will send you to anywhere within Zao Onsen village, and pick you up back to the hotel if you call. Our room was Japanese style with mountain view.

Hotel located at hilltop adjacent to Zao ropeway station. It’s onsen is really good despite quite acidic. Don’t soak too long or it’ll be exceptionally itchy to your skin. Package dinner is ok.

Although not exactly ski-in-ski-out but location is good enough. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Facilities are well-maintained.

The hotel is clean, the service is professional and very attentive. I will definitely stay there again.

The beef for the hotpot dinner was delicious, and the staff were incredibly enthusiastic. We also received complimentary welcome snacks.

The hot spring ♨️ is really nice, and the kaiseki dinner with breakfast was also very generous. It's very close to the ski resort.

I have a great time at the resort and the ski slope is recommended. Will be back again!!

nice room size, meal is good. But Onsen is a bit small and no view at all.

We arrived late (20:15) due to temporary closure of Sendai Airport (tsunami warning), and obviously we were late for the hotel dinner after having to travel all the way up from Narita instead. We were tired and hungry when we arrived, but the hotel disappointed us even more for not reserving our paid dinners for us, nor was there a reimbursement. Did they just throw the food away after all the preparation work? The (presumably) manager's attitude was one of inflexibility and apathy, so atypical of Japanese etiquette. The restaurants nearby were all closed already and we had to starve for the first night there. Very unpleasant and inconsiderate arrangement.

An old style hotel with a beautiful Onsen and nice foot spa. Friendly staff who tried their best to explain things in English. Nice free transfer service to and from Yamagata station but need to book 3 days prior. Breakfast and Dinner options are fantastic and very tasty. Also walkable to the Cable car station.
