Beautiful ryokan. Authentic, relaxed and well-kept. Beautiful garden, located directly on a canal. A stone's throw from a quiet and beautiful shrine and the jetty for the traditional boats. The landlady speaks a little English and is very helpful. We had a large room on the top floor with a view of the canal. Everything is new, large and comfortable. For one or two nights a perfect place for a traditional Japanese overnight stay including Japanese breakfast. Great value for money. A great place off the beaten track. We would come again. Arigato Gozai masu.

Near the Yanagawa train station and the river boating tour. The owner is very nice and friendly. We were so tired from the day trip. We came after 2PM. She allowed us to check earlier without charge. We asked her if she can get us a taxi to go to a restaurant when we checked out, she decided to drive us to the place herself. The room is very clean, spacious and beautiful. Lovely ryokan stay in Yanagawa.

The innkeeper was very friendly and could communicate in basic English. Our room included breakfast, a very authentic Japanese breakfast, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. Looking at the photos when booking, I couldn't imagine the cozy atmosphere of our stay. The room overlooked the Yanagawa River, a truly picturesque view. The room was very spacious; there wasn't enough room for the children to play.

A cozy Japanese-style inn; the receptionist was very friendly and spoke excellent English; the rooms were clean and well-equipped; the Japanese breakfast was plentiful and authentic. Highly recommended.

The owners were very kind, and the breakfast was prepared with great care. Although it has a historical feel, it has been renovated in a modern style, making it very clean and nice. There are no convenience stores nearby, so you have to go to the nearest station, but it was nice for a short walk. It is a pretty neighborhood.
