Yangshuo Guanlan Hotel

Guanlan truly shines in Yangshuo! It boasts an expansive garden, with the Yulong River's gentle flow and distant karst mountains right below, creating a scene as beautiful as a moving painting. The gym in the garden makes working out an absolute pleasure. And what a pleasant surprise to find bonfires and outdoor movies in the evening! Plus, their breakfast is incredibly rich and delicious—the best rice noodles I had on this trip. The service is incredibly thoughtful, beyond words, and every space is designed to be so open, seamlessly connecting with nature, completely fulfilling my need for Natural Healing. Highly, highly recommend!

Choosing this resort was the best decision we made on our trip to Guilin! Given how spread out the attractions are, having everything we needed – food, drinks, and accommodation – right here at the hotel was incredibly convenient. We barely wanted to leave! Plus, the hotel is really close to the famous 20 RMB scenic spot. The hotel offers a shuttle service, which is a huge plus, and they even picked us up and dropped us off at the high-speed rail station. The rooms are spacious, and the breakfast spread was abundant and delicious. All the staff were so friendly and polite. There are even adorable ducks you can feed in the morning! When we checked out, they gave us a farewell gift, which was a lovely touch. Overall, the experience was fantastic. This place is perfect for honeymoons and family trips.

I rarely stay in B&Bs, but this one comes highly recommended, especially for those who enjoy a slower pace and want to quietly soak in the Li River scenery. First off, the location is excellent, right next to the Li River – it's a one-minute walk to the riverside, and you can stroll along the path to the 20-yuan scenic spot and Mashan Pier. Second, the owner and staff are incredibly attentive and enthusiastic, making us feel right at home and relaxed. Plus, you won't get bored even if you stay for two days. There are outdoor movie nights, a pickleball court, Friday night BBQs, a small gym, a pool (good for splashing around, not really for swimming), and even a vegetable garden – plenty to keep you entertained. Lastly, the restaurant serves delicious food, and the Guilin rice noodles for breakfast are a highlight. While the à la carte meals are a bit pricey, for a scenic area, the taste and hygiene are reassuring. On the day we checked out, my daughter even asked for a take-out portion of the sweet and sour Li River small fish. The second phase is currently under construction, and I'm sure the experience will be even better once it's finished!

The environment is great, and the location is decent; you can get to Xingping Ancient Town by car or taxi. The owner was incredibly thoughtful, giving us ibuprofen and ginger tea. When we left, we even received monk fruit and chopped chili sauce. Since we stayed for many days, the housekeeper even asked if we wanted to change up the breakfast menu. Five stars, well deserved! The dogs and cats are adorable, and the restaurant's meals are also quite good. Perfect for a relaxing vacation.

Choosing this hotel was the best decision for my trip to Guilin! The room has a Wabi-sabi design, and when you open the electric curtains, you're greeted with the same mountain view as on the 20 RMB banknote. It's fully equipped with a Dyson hairdryer and speaker, showing great attention to detail. The Guilin rice noodles at breakfast were delicious, with a wide variety of toppings. In the evening, there's a bonfire and open-air cinema on the lawn, plus a self-service BBQ. I didn't even want to leave the hotel – it was a completely immersive mountain and river retreat! There are also adorable pets: West Highland Terriers, Call Ducks, and Chinese pastoral cats~

I personally really liked this B&B. The location is superb, nestled by mountains and water. It's a pleasant 20-30 minute walk to Xingping Ancient Town, Nine-Horse Mural Hill, and the 20-Yuan bill scenic spot. Walking along the left-side trail to Nine-Horse Mural Hill takes about 20 minutes. Opened in 2023, the facilities are still quite new. Compared to the common areas, the rooms are a bit simpler, with a Wabi-sabi style and not much decoration, but they are quite spacious and comfortable to stay in. Breakfast is a set meal, very generous. If you don't like rice noodles, you can ask for mini wontons instead. Afternoon tea and late-night dessert are provided daily. Freshly ground coffee and fruit are available all day. In the evenings, there are bonfires and open-air movies on the lawn, and one night even featured a BBQ buffet. The service is basically responsive to all requests, warm and attentive. The only potential drawback is that the second phase of construction next door is ongoing, which slightly impacts the view. The owner mentioned it should be completed in three months, at which point more new room types will be available.
