This is a cute tucked-in-a -corner type of hostel. Like a bed and breakfast. The room us a bit cold in December but it didnt deter me from coming back next year around August ir September. Not easy to find off the main road but following the map helps. The husband & wife team are excellent host and accomodating. I had problem ordering a taxi to Beijing and they helped me ordered a local cab within minutes. They went Abode and beyond

Spoke English (so does his wife). He met us when we arrived and was very helpful in orienting us. He brought us extra blankets for the cold & stayed in touch on WeChat with directions & clarifications as needed. The place was simple but it worked great for us! Fantastic value & a friendly welcome!

Staying here was like being part of the family. As soon as I had booked, May contacted me and assisted me in finding transport. Upon arrival, David came out to meet me to make sure I didn’t get lost. David also took me sightseeing a bit later. I was able to enjoy home cooked meals for supper and breakfast. It was just an incredible experience to be treated with such warmth and genuine care. The owner and his family are very welcoming and the courtyard is very comfortable. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the Badaling Great Wall in the morning! It’s just that the train timetable seems to change every half month, the train frequency is less intensive, and there may be no trains after 1830. Because it is a suburban B&B, all aspects of the conditions cannot be compared with urban hotel standards. The electric water heater in the room is only enough for one person at a time. The next person will have to wait a few minutes for the hot water to heat up. The room is warm with floor heating and the mattress is supported.
