Before going there, I read a lot of reviews on Ctrip and Xiaohongshu about hygiene and lack of soundproofing in the rooms, so I upgraded to a larger and more independent room. The hygiene is actually acceptable, quite satisfactory and has no flaws. However, the renovation of ancient buildings, especially those made of wood, is really not soundproof. Fortunately, I was mentally prepared before going and brought my own earplugs and eye masks (earplugs will also be provided at the front desk). I didn't have a good rest on the first night with the roar of the air conditioner, but I gradually got used to it in the following nights. Amidst the crowing of chickens, the barking of dogs, and the chirping of insects, I returned to nature. (Of course, we also have to pray that the guests that night are of higher quality and don’t make loud noises in the dead of night or play table tennis early in the morning) The overall environment is still very beautiful. The winding verandahs, small wooden buildings, and white walls and blue tiles are very suitable for taking pictures. The swimming pool reflects the white clouds, and the mountains in the distance are like black clouds. The children soak in the pool every day and refuse to come out. There are also travel photos provided in the room without any additional hidden charges. The photographer girl is also very good at taking photos. The location is relatively far from the high-speed rail station. It takes about an hour to get here by online taxi. It is close to Hongcun and Xidi and is convenient for travel. There is not much food around. However, it is 1 km away from the county seat and you can get takeout. The facilities are beautiful. The lobby is beautiful, the views in the public areas are pretty good, the rooms are simple and simple, there are no smart facilities, and you have to go downstairs to pick up takeaways. These are not big problems. I arrived at the hotel a little late in the evening and didn't check it out. In the morning I found that the upgraded mountain view room faced the construction site... It was a bit noisy in the afternoon, so it would be better not to upgrade. The gym was very exciting. It was only at 9pm that there was no power when I went there, so I called the front desk and called an electrician to solve the problem. There is no water, towels, or yoga mats in the key gym, but there are mahjong tables and chess and card tables. This layout also refreshes the perception. Two of the three treadmills have contact issues. They haven't been cleaned for an unknown amount of time, and they are all stained with sweat. The light weight of the dumbbell disappeared, and the lightest remaining one was 7.5KG... The service is also amazing. If you search the hotel, you will receive an extra breakfast and a souvenir after check-out, Huangshan Shaobing. Let’s be generous. The clothes left in the room need to be paid for express delivery. I have stayed in so many hotels, from B&Bs to star hotels. This is the first time I have to pay for the express delivery of forgotten items. The best choice for Huangshan vacation. I stayed in a two-bedroom villa with my kids and parents. I could park my car directly at the door. Charlotte, the housekeeper, and Yang Xuemei, the waiter, were very enthusiastic, responsible and conscientious. The room quality was good, in line with the grade of Banyan Tree. The breakfast was not very varied but of good quality. The walnut cakes provided in the room were super delicious. I experienced the dinner and spa in the restaurant. This is one of the most delightful guesthouses I’ve stayed at in China. The building itself is beautiful. The service is impeccable. The food is delicious (I had dinner and breakfast there). They have free bikes and nice maps of the vicinity. I’m really glad I stayed in Bishan; felt much less touristy than Xidi or Hongcun and it has a branch of the librarie avant-gardes bookstores. It’s a solid hour from the high-speed rail, ask them to organize car for you.

This location was perfect and right in the scenic area of hongcun. It’s a little difficult to find at first but once you find it it’s easy to come back to if you put it in the maps app. The town is so cute and we were welcomed with little Hand-made bookmarks which was so sweet and a wonderful surprise. The one thing that was off putting and probably a one off is it seemed that there was a large family staying in the Homestay and in the middle of the night there was screaming and doors slamming on and off throughout the night. I’m not sure if this is a regular thing or just happened to be a one night thing but it was a bit frightening. Other than that the location was very quiet when we got there and the owner was very helpful with any questions we had throughout our stay.
