This was my first time staying here, though I'd passed by before and really liked the area. This time, I specifically chose Yokohama for a weekend getaway. The Narita Express takes you directly here, no transfers needed. I picked a hotel near Yokohama Station to minimize walking. However, finding the Northeast Exit A was a bit of a challenge. I couldn't exit directly from the north exit and always ended up looping through the central north exit, haha. I'll try again next time.
This was the first time in my life experiencing such a noisy JR (train) room. The sound of trains passing by was incredibly loud, but I managed to train myself to view it as white noise. I didn't sleep well for two nights. Still, it's much better than the vibrating subway rooms back home, which reminds me of the agony of some hotels near Chunxi Road in Chengdu.
Despite the noise, the hotel's location is actually quite good, and the service and room size are better than the Sotetsu hotels in Tokyo. Plus, having a Family Mart convenience store and Beck's Coffee right next door was a huge plus.
However, I won't be considering this hotel again in the future. I'm getting older and can't handle the noise anymore.
