Reviews of Chisun Hotel Yokohama Isezakicho

The hotel was quite clean, but I wasn't very satisfied with the front desk service. The first night, we stayed at a different hotel. Due to terrible hygiene there, my son had an allergic reaction. We went to the emergency room, but they only prescribed 10ml of medicine, enough for just two doses. He wasn't better the next day, and his skin was still itchy that evening. There was a Chinese-speaking staff member at the hotel front desk. I went to ask other staff members if he was available, as my son was sick and needed help. The front desk told me he had finished his shift. As it was a medical issue and my English wasn't sufficient for effective communication, I went back to my room to get my translation device and then returned to the front desk. At this point, I saw the same Chinese staff member working there again. I spoke to this Chinese staff member and mentioned that his colleague had told me he was off duty. He said he was actually off duty at that moment. (I got the impression he was suggesting he couldn't help me while off duty, but I apologize if I misinterpreted.) I then asked if he could still help, as my child was sick, and I wanted to buy some medicine proactively. Japanese emergency services are incredibly expensive; last night's ER visit for just 10ml of medicine cost over 2,200 RMB. He suggested a place called 'Don Quijote' where, he claimed, there was a Chinese doctor, making communication easy. I showed him a navigation location, and he confirmed it was the right place, only a few hundred meters' walk from the hotel. I navigated there but found nothing. (To hotel staff: Could you clarify what Japanese characters denote 'Don Quijote' / 'Donki' for future reference?) I also went inside these places to look, but didn't find any Chinese-speaking staff. There was only a drugstore, and its staff didn't speak Chinese either. Then, after leaving, I saw a restaurant called 'Sichuan Cuisine Little Green Pepper'. I went in and spoke to the proprietress. She said she hadn't heard of 'Don Quijote' and even came out with me to search for a while, but we still couldn't find it. However, the proprietress was incredibly kind. She gave me some ointment she used to treat her son's allergies. I'm extremely grateful. I hope anyone staying at this hotel in the future will visit this restaurant for Sichuan food and tell her that a Chinese traveler will always remember her kindness. Conveniently, this restaurant is only a few hundred meters from the hotel, and it can be found by navigating to 'Don Quijote' – the very location I had been directed to earlier. I'm sharing all this because the hotel failed to provide any useful assistance when my child was sick, nor did they show any concern for my child's well-being. For the Japanese hotel industry, often considered a paragon of service, I find this quite lacking. Furthermore, throughout our three-day, two-night stay, from check-in to check-out, I didn't see a single staff member, including front desk and housekeeping, smile. To be fair, the hotel's hygiene was excellent. There's a convenience store downstairs and a subway station nearby, both very convenient. Separately, avoid the Livemax Hotel Yokohama Kannai Ekimae, located just a few hundred meters from this hotel. Its hygiene is utterly dreadful. It's highly likely my child's allergic reaction on the first night was due to staying at that hotel. I've included details about its terrible hygiene in my review for that hotel.
