The hotel's location is fantastic, not far from the train station and right next to a classic photo spot on the ancient city wall. The room was clean and tidy, and the front desk staff were very friendly; they even allowed us to check in early when we arrived at 1 PM.

The hotel's location is excellent, the room is spacious, and the bedding is comfortable. The shower has great water pressure. The Eggs Benedict for breakfast were delicious, and the fruit quality was good. Overall, it's very much worth the price.

My stay at the Malmaison York far exceeded my expectations; I was thoroughly impressed. In a country where hotel rooms are often on the smaller side, this hotel truly stood out with its spacious and airy rooms, which felt anything but cramped. The facilities were meticulously maintained and thoughtfully equipped, ensuring a very comfortable stay. The hotel staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and efficient during check-in, and they patiently addressed all my requests throughout my stay, providing a truly pleasant service experience. The location is a major highlight. It’s just a short walk to key Old Town attractions like the Shambles and York Minster, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the ancient city. Staying here allowed me to immerse myself in the vibrant atmosphere of York's Old Town, significantly enhancing my entire Yorkshire trip. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting York. In the evenings, a short stroll led me to enjoy some wine and Italian food – I couldn't have been happier with my choice in York!

The room was spacious and very clean. It offered a great view of the city walls, and the cathedral was just a short walk away. There were plenty of restaurants, bars, and supermarkets nearby, making it easy to find food. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting York.

This is an excellent hotel. The breakfast is great, and the hotel restaurant serves high-quality food. It's right next to the ancient city wall. There's a gym, and it's very convenient to get to the train station and the market streets. Plus, the views are lovely.

Convenient location with pleasant surroundings.

I am very disappointed with my room assignment. Before my arrival, I specifically requested rooms near the elevator and connecting rooms (or at least rooms close to each other) because I am traveling with my young children. Unfortunately, none of my requests were accommodated. Instead, I was assigned two separate rooms on different floors (2nd and 6th floors). To make matters worse, each floor requires a separate key card to access, making it extremely inconvenient and nearly impossible for my family to move between rooms. Additionally, one of the rooms is located at the very end of the hallway, far from the elevator, despite my request for a room nearby. These arrangements are the exact opposite of what I requested and create significant difficulties when traveling with children. I made these requests in advance because they are important for my family’s safety and convenience, yet they appear to have been completely overlooked.

The room was relatively spacious, especially the bathroom, which also had a beautiful design with hot water for showers. I arrived early and was able to check in since a room was available. The location is excellent, right next to the city walls entrance, perfect for a walk around the city. I didn't require housekeeping during my two-day stay, and the hotel even gave me a £15 voucher for the restaurant downstairs, which I used for coffee and drinks. Very satisfied.

The hotel location is excellent. It's a 3-5 minute walk from the train station, and right next to the city walls – you can even see them from your room window! York Minster and Shambles are only about a 5-6 minute walk away. The staff are really friendly, and the facilities are quite new. The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, which is a great design. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The hotel is very close to the train station, about a 5-minute walk through the city walls, which is very convenient. York city isn't large, and most attractions and shopping streets are within walking distance. We booked two rooms and arrived a little after 2 PM. The front desk initially thought we only had one room and assigned us a room on the first floor, ignoring our request for a higher floor. When I told him we had booked two rooms, he then said the other room could be on a higher floor, but we couldn't get the keys until after 3 PM. So, we had to take all our luggage to the first-floor room first. As soon as we opened the door, there was a strange smell, which got a little better after turning on the air conditioning. Since we were only staying for one night, we didn't bother to discuss it further. When we returned in the evening, we picked up the keys for the second room, which was on a higher floor. The cleanliness was noticeably better than the first-floor room, and there was no strange smell. Both rooms were quite spacious, which was a plus. Breakfast was semi-buffet style; you could order one hot dish, and then help yourself to bread, fruit, and other items.

This hotel was absolutely amazing, beautiful hotel and rooms. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The experience was fantastic. The only thing I would suggest would be better lighting as my mirror light was not working. The rooms other that that were amazing.

Aside from the location, there isn’t much else I can praise about this hotel. Car park is very limited. Car park rate around the area is very expensive. At least £40 per day.

The hotel's location is superb, just a 5-minute walk from York Station. It's also within walking distance to attractions like York Minster and Shambles.

Overall, I had a really good experience. The hotel was very close to where I needed to go and the service was good too.
