Hornsby House Inn

This was our second stay here at this wonderful place and it won't be our last. I wish I could live here! I can't say enough about Tom and Lexi who are both great hosts. The home is gorgeous, rooms are clean and comfy (wanted to take the bed home!), and delicious breakfasts every morning in the dining room. It is also walking distance to historic spots in Yorktown as well as restaurants which is very convenient. Can't wait to return!

We spent 2 nights in very cold weather. We were warm, comfortable and well cared for at HHI. Tom was an excellent communicator and chef. He answered all our questions and prepared delicious breakfasts. Our room had a beautiful view of the monument and river. The bed and linens were comfortable. We enjoyed complimentary coffee & cookies throughout the weekend. One morning we sat the in the living room having coffee by the fire before our breakfast, and then later that evening hosted other friends in the sunroom to watch ACC basketball - just like home. The best part of our stay was meeting and enjoying the company of the other guests during breakfast and hearing from Mr. David Bowditch who grew up there. It is clear that this former family home still resonates with love and care. I honestly did not want to leave. We travel to area often and will be staying again.

Couldn't have been more perfect. Beautiful, comfortable & spotless accommodations. The breakfasts were so delicious! There were homemade Christmas cookies, chocolates & coffee available. There wonderful places to rest, read or chat with others. Tom & Lexie were amazing hosts; informative & easy to talk with. It was our second time at Hornsby House Inn & we'll likely be back again.

Wonderful place! Rich history, lovely inn keepers! Even got a history lesson over breakfast from the owner! Very comfortable and conveniently located.

A place of relaxed and stately elegance designed by the architect for Colonial Williamsburg. Tidewater charm and hospitality make you feel like you're visiting family. Excellent breakfast with real conversations stimulated by Dave and Tom. Tom and Lexi are the perfect hosts. Yorktown is a little jewel.

We enjoyed the Chesapeake Room for its peaceful quiet spirit and comfortable bed. We also enjoyed several rooms around the Inn in the evening.

Care takers were very knowledgeable of the history of the house and town. Very clean and comfortable. Very welcoming. Breakfast and the atmosphere around the table that was inspired by the care taker was very refreshing and relaxing. Totally enjoyable experience.

The staff at the Inn is so helpful and accommodating, the breakfast is delicious. Plus the added bonus of a live history lesson on the Battle of Yorktown during breakfast was so amazing!

What a lovely charming Inn! My husband and I stopped here on our way down to the Outer Banks. We wanted to visit Yorktown and we like unusual places to stay. This place has history and charm. It has a wonderful view from the front porch over the river. We stayed in the carriage house and that room is large, airy and quiet. Tom the inn keeper is lovely and welcoming. He provides an excellent breakfast and is avaiable if you need him. This is going on our list of places to stay. I am looking forward to visiting again!
