The hotel is located right next to Kinrin Lake, nestled amidst lush greenery. We were upgraded to a suite, and the view from the window was like a painting – it truly felt like we were living in a forest. The hotel's Kaiseki cuisine was excellent, and the service was very attentive.

The hotel staff were incredibly attentive, and the food was fresh and delicious – it made us feel so happy. My family really enjoyed exploring and experiencing a traditional Japanese onsen hotel. The location was excellent, right next to Lake Kinrin, which was very convenient.

The room was spacious and beautiful, featuring an indoor garden and a private onsen. The public bath was also excellent, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The hotel is within walking distance from Yufuin Station and close to the picturesque Kinrin Lake. However, there are two points I must complain about. Firstly, a staff member opened our room door five minutes before check-out, seemingly rushing us to leave, and other services felt rushed and hurried. Such incidents shouldn't occur in a high-end ryokan like this. Secondly, I understand that it was Golden Week, a busy period for transfers, so we opted not to use the hotel's shuttle service back to the station. However, when we tried to adjust our plans, there was no flexibility in their arrangements. So, it's a mixed bag of good and bad. The facilities and food are excellent, but the service is just average, which certainly isn't great for the price.

Our stay at Yufuin "Tano-kura" was absolutely flawless. First off, the service was truly top-notch. Our dedicated staff member (SIC) was incredibly professional and attentive, taking exceptional care of us throughout our visit. What really put us at ease was their meticulous attention to confirming food allergies, which allowed us to fully enjoy the exquisite and delicious cuisine without any worries. Every interaction, from the introduction to the hotel facilities to the meal service in our room, was handled with utmost politeness and respect. The environment was impeccably clean and tidy, making for a wonderfully comfortable stay. This trip truly allowed us to relax completely; we left feeling fully recharged and revitalized. Our sincere thanks for such a perfect experience!

One of the best hotels I have stayed in! The room is big with in-room onsen, the view is awesome, the service is wonderful. They also have 4 public onsen, shuttle bus service and welcome snacks for free. Their garden is beautiful as well. You can get to different attractions on foot easily. I definitely wanna come back!

The hotel located near the beautiful Lake Kinrin. It is a good old Japanese style hotel spring hotel. The staffs are kind enough and good English communication. The dinner and breakfast is good taste. Free shuttle car to the JR station in the morning is a great gift. Thank you.

It is a very pleasant experience for the stay in Tanokura. We were served by a nice lady Chia, from the checking in with hotel introductions to dinner, breakfast till saying goodbye to us to the door of the hotel! Nice room, great hot springs, fantastic dinner and breakfast!

This is a quintessential Japanese onsen ryokan. We enjoyed a delicious wagyu kaiseki dinner and breakfast in our room, though the dessert was a bit simple. We stayed for two nights and were pleasantly surprised by both meals. The ryokan has four different communal baths (onsen) for men and women, which we made sure to enjoy every morning and evening. Soaking in the open-air bath while gazing at the sky was incredibly relaxing.

Very satisfied, the service was excellent. After arriving at the JR station, we called the hotel and they picked us up in 5-10 minutes; they also dropped us off when we left. The food was incredibly fresh, even better than Hoshino Resorts. The facilities are a bit old-fashioned but very clean. The location is great.

Food – The food here is on a Michelin level — honestly even better than the two-star Furukawa we visited in Fukuoka. Both breakfast and dinner are absolutely outstanding. Do not skip either meal! Location – Perfectly situated right beside Kinrin Lake and the main street. Couldn't ask for a better spot in Yufuin. Service – Exceptional. A huge shoutout to Miko (hope I got your name right!) — she speaks great English and was an absolute ray of sunshine throughout our stay. 10/10! Room – The combination of a private onsen and tatami room is just perfect. Exactly what a ryokan experience should feel like. Conclusion – One of the best stays we've ever had. Highly, highly recommend!

Enjoyed our stay very much., will stay again. Breakfast and Dinner were served in room, with top quality and very tasteful. Our attendant, Ms. Miki, a very nice lady speaks fluent English wich is a plus. If you like privacy and good services with Top location and good onsens this place is for you.

This ryokan truly puts kindness first. I had a comfortable and enjoyable two-day stay. I really appreciated being able to choose and enjoy different onsens freely, and the staff's kindness was exceptional. Since it was a traditional Japanese-style room, it was a little cold at night when sleeping. I also loved the unique and delicious meals, both breakfast and dinner. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing healing experience. It was a ryokan trip I'd love to repeat!
