Reviews of Yufuin Hananomai

This is my second trip to Yufuin, and my second time staying at a ryokan. I remember the previous place was bigger and had more baths, but it was also quite a bit more expensive, and far from the tourist spots. This time, however, I felt I made a great choice with Hananomai – it was clean and reasonably priced. After getting off at the bus station, they provided a pick-up service at the time I requested, making check-in very convenient. The accommodation tax was 500 yen, and since I didn't have cash, I paid by card. There was one indoor and one outdoor private family bath, plus a shared public bath each for men and women. The baths were always empty whenever we wanted to use them. It was great that we could walk to the restaurants and tourist attractions we wanted to visit in about 10-15 minutes. I didn't have high expectations for breakfast, but it was incredibly satisfying! Perhaps because we ate a lot the night before and knew we'd be eating more while sightseeing the next day, the simple and clean meal left a lasting impression. Every dish felt meticulously prepared and healthy. The lady with glasses who served us was also incredibly kind, which was a lovely touch.

Friendly staff, delicious breakfast. It's a shame the open-air bath is a bit small and there's only one, but the accommodation is well-maintained.

My mother and I went to Yufuin in early August, and it was a wonderful experience staying in this ryokan! Everything was beautifully designed, and we love the tranquility there. Our room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and my mother is greatly impressed with the outdoor onsen. The staffs were all friendly. The breakfast they served was really nice, even the rice was so perfectly cooked!

Location was good, walking distance to the Floral Village area and with free parking. The environment is very comfortable and quiet. Love the private family shared bath (onsen) which can be used without extra charge! The staff were friendly and their breakfast tastes good too. I will definitely come back again if going to Yufuin.

Goodmand nice support

A very quiet, traditional Japanese inn, clean and comfortable! Although the facilities are a bit old, they don't feel uncomfortable or inconvenient. While the location is a little far from the main street, it's not too far, about a 7-minute walk. There are no private bathrooms in the rooms, but you can use the family/public baths. When it's not crowded, it's like a private bath! 😂 Overall, a very good experience! The breakfast was also delicious!

The breakfast area is so pretty. The hot springs aren't spacious, but they weren't crowded, so my mother and I were satisfied. It is within walking distance of the lake, and they provide a shuttle service from the station, which is convenient. All the staff are very kind.

10/10, no complaints. Peaceful, great atmosphere. I love the private onsen here. It would be even more amazing if it snowed, because even just the rain made me happy. ☺️🥰

The hotel is located away from the hustle and bustle, allowing you to experience the beauty of nature. There is a pick-up service at the station. If you walk, it is about one kilometer, which is also acceptable. The hotel environment is good. Because it is small, there are not many customers, it is very quiet, there is a courtyard outside the window, and the entrance is also a winding path. The private bath is open 24 hours a day, and you can always wait. There is one bathroom for men and one for women, and two private baths, which are very small. The hotel provides bathing and hot spring supplies. The room is Japanese-style and not small. The only drawback is that it has a musty smell, which may be due to the humid environment. The breakfast is very good, just make an appointment for the meal time. Check out of the hotel at 10:30

The rooms were a bit old, but the tatami mats were comfortable. The courtyard wasn't very big, and the hot spring was quite small and rather cold. Breakfast was the best part. We came here separately from our tour group, without renting a car, so getting around was a bit of a hassle. We spent over 400 yuan extra on transportation to get here, but overall it wasn't as good as I expected—just average. If you don't rent a car, there's no need to make a special trip.

It was a small but quiet and clean place, so it was really great for getting a good rest.

Great hotel. Ryokan. Very welcoming. Onsen water is a bit warm. Would have liked it hotter, but otherwise everything is great.
