Yuzawa New Otani

We stayed here on New Year's Day 2024. We rented ski equipment from the rental shop next to the hotel, were taken to the ski resort by car, and even had our family photos taken. The gondola stopped for a while due to the earthquake, and we returned to the hotel feeling very anxious. The elevators at the hotel could not be used due to the earthquake, but a young staff member kindly carried our suitcases up to the 5th floor. Despite the situation, we were able to have delicious food, a warm bath, sleep in clean futons, and were kind to our children. We are very grateful. The hotel building is old, but the staff's service was excellent. We would like to stay at this hotel again!

I enjoyed the service in a very spacious private room, which I think used to be a karaoke room. There was a large public bath right next to it, and the room was equipped with a refrigerator and a kettle. It was so comfortable that I thought I could just sleep there.

It was my first time using this facility. It was a weekday during the off-season, so it was relatively empty and I was able to use the large public bath to myself and relax. The facility is well-maintained and clean. The room was a Western-style room with an Airweave mattress, which was very comfortable. The food was just the right amount and delicious. The staff were polite and kind. It was good value for money and more than worth it. I will definitely return.

The COVID-19 measures were in place so I was able to stay with peace of mind. The jade jacuzzi bath felt great. It helped me relieve my daily fatigue.

Used for skiing purposes. The day we arrived we went to Gala, and the second night we went to Yuzawa Kogen Ski Resort. From Gala, we took the Shinkansen to Echigo Yuzawa and were picked up by car. We took a bus to Yuzawa Kogen and walked back, but it was difficult for a tired child. ☆Good points: The Japanese-style room with two rooms was spacious and nice! Yukimi Onsen (female only) is also great! After checking out, you can use the hot springs for free after skiing. (Please note that there are no bath towels in the changing room. Rental required.) The rice is delicious. The amount of food was just right. They sold ski accessories, which was helpful. There was a ski rental shop attached. ☆Bad points: There is a set time for picking up and dropping off the car to the station. It would be nice if they could serve it on an ad hoc basis when there were few customers. The banquet hall can be used as a changing room, but it closes early. There is very little meat in the rice. The facilities are old and unfashionable. You can walk from the nearest ski resort, but it's a little far. After all, as a hotel that is not in front of the ski slopes, the service makes up for it.

ツアーでの宿泊です。部屋は和室で、布団は半分に畳んで準備されている状態でした。洗面ボウルが二つあるので、スキー客相手の4人部屋なのでしょう。二人でゆったり過ごせました。 風呂は皆さんのレビュー通りです。片方にしか露天がないのがやや不満です。 食事は朝夕ともにたいへんおいしくいただきました。係りの方も感じがよく、説明もきちんとしてくれました。 売店では新潟のお土産が充実しています。

越後湯沢駅西口から出て温泉通りを右にしばらく行くと、ニューオータニと双葉の看板があり、そこを左に曲がって坂を登ると途中左手にあります。 車で行くと、玄関前に停め、後はホテルの方が駐車してくれます。 フロントは殆どが男性の方です。 大手ホテルチェーンだけあってか、フロントの方の対応は素晴らしかったです。 コロナ対策として、フロントで全ての説明が行われました。 部屋は禁煙室の和室。 5階と6階が全室禁煙フロアーのようです。 お風呂は1階。 男女入れ替わりで、片方には露天風呂が、片方には翡翠ジャグジーとサウナがあります。 お湯は無色無臭ですので、温泉臭くはないので、翌日仕事でも気になりません。 食事は2階のレストランで。 量は適量で、食べきれないということはありません。 朝食は同じ場所でバイキングでした。 外壁が古く感じるのですが、レストランやお風呂など内装は綺麗で、外見で損をしている気がしました。 全体として、非常にコストパフォーマンスが良いお宿でした。
