Art Hotel Kalelarga

Zadar Old Town Zadar|0.18km from Natural History Department of the National Museum Zadar
The hotel is located inside the walled old city, so you'll need to park outside. If you're getting dropped off the quickest way (about 5 mins) is through the new gate (Nova vrata) and go straight along Ul. Jurja Barakovica to Narodni Square (Narodni trg). The hotel is around the corner from the Ethnographic Museum by going down Ul. Široka. At the ground floor is the NOMU sushi & wine bar, the entrance to the hotel however is just around the corner, off a laneway (Ul. Majke Margarite). There is no lobby just a small counter at the back of the restaurant. The hotel is small, with three rooms to a floor. The rooms themselves are modern, clean and relatively spacious, with a large ensuite bathroom. The bed was super comfortable, it had good functioning a/c and the windows out over the street were fairly well soundproof, with blackout curtains. The breakfast was served at our table on a three-tier tray, with croissants, meat, breads, jams, and cheese. They also provide coffee, freshly squeezed juice and eggs to the order. We did get a bit confused with the parking arrangements at first however it appears you don't pay for your parking but wait to get a parking infringement. Once you get one infringement you don't get any further infringements and then you just pay the infringement online. This is a great little modern hotel perfectly located in the middle of the old town, which means it is within walking distance of all the shops, attractions and restaurants in Zadar.

Zadar Old Town Zadar|0.35km from Natural History Department of the National Museum Zadar
First off let me say Zadar was one our top faves on our trip to Croatia. It was less crowded and had a different vibe than other locations. We felt very safe during our entire visit to Croatia and Zadar was no exception. My wife and I stayed there for 4 nights. Luxury Rooms Kadena has 3 rooms and they are a very good value for the money. We were in room 3 and enjoyed it very much. The place was immaculate and very comfortable. The woman that takes care of the rooms daily was very friendly and helpful. The location is right in the heart of Old Town so you will have to walk to it from Sea Gate which is less than 5 minutes. We took a taxi from the bus station to there for 50 HRK (~$7.50 USD). The doorway is situated between 2 restaurants and you will need to use the stairs as no lift is available. We are both in our 60s and this was never an issue. One of the benefits of its location is that many times we found it convenient to go there for a quick rest, drop off purchases, etc. From the doorway there is a small market about 40 feet away. We purchased yogurt, tea, etc. there and made use of the rooms nice supplies of cereals, fruits, etc. to supplement these for breakfast. An espresso machine is also available. The tub was a great touch and the bathroom was wonderful with a large shower and dual sinks. The bed was very comfortable and we slept fine. There are a couple things to consider though. The rooms are in a very close environment with narrow streets and cafes that are open at night and the voices and sounds will filter up to you. Being from the country where we are used to crickets and owls at night, this was a pleasant surprise and part of the culture. The second item is that each morning at 7AM the church tower bells ring long and hard. Again, this wasn’t an issue for us as it was about the time we would have been getting up anyway and is also part of the charm. There were also plenty of European outlets available but no USB ports. WiFi is available but it tended to drop the signal on occasion. What I believe was a signal booster unit was next to the door and unplugging it and plugging it back in brought it on-line again. A TV is also available. If you are going to Croatia I recommend you place Zadar on your list and the Luxury Rooms Kadena is a great place to stay.

Zadar Old Town
The first floor of the city is the Zadar's pedestrian artery, and it is a beautiful design despite the communalities and a decrepit building. No reception, it's more than an AirBnB... Clim and TV Sat did not work so much to say that he was doing 25 in the room after a night of “Clim” in a synthetic draps without anyone on the ground to remedy it... only contacts by Whatsapp with the host who asks us to make sure we have closed the window well, whether we have accurately set the TV or the air conditioning.... Take us for jams... Clim only works in your presence being triggered with the key of the apartment, otherwise you arrive in a furnace... In short, clean, little attention but the essential is not there. Ps only parking nearby 10kn/heure in season.

Zadar Old Town
Thank you, Vlad! My husband and I are thankful for your hospitality and kindness to welcome us to your beautiful town. Vlad knows all of the inside scoops around his hometown, Zadar. He provides you insights, tips, and guidance to Zadar. He communicates with us daily and we really appreciate that. The check-in time is flexible and check-out is at 10:00am. We arrived late to check-in to the room and Vlad really accommodated. We are so thankful for his flexibility! The apartment location is right in the heart of Old Town in Zadar! It cannot get any better than that. We were able to wake up early and walk into Old Town without dealing with the morning and afternoon tour groups. The location is closed to a free parking lot which is about a five minute walk. There is a laundromat next to the apartment. It costs about 15 Kuna per load. There are a total of four apartment rooms. We stayed in Room 1. The room is clean and cozy. It has a few accommodations such as hair dryer, refrigerator, and air conditioning. The room is spacious for two people. There are rolls of extra toilet tissues inside the cabinet sink. The hot water is just enough to accommodate two people. Do not leave the hot water on while showering because your partner will not have hot water to shower next. Overall, my husband and I were so thankful for booking this apartment in Old Town. The location is fantastic. The host is amazing and accommodating. We enjoyed our time in Zadar!

In the center of the old city, the location is very good. The quadruple room has a bathroom and a shower. The privacy is good. The website shows that the price does not include 8 Cuna tax. The most important thing is to treat the roommate who is reliable.
