Denise Beach Hotel

I stayed at Denise Beach Hotel for a girls' holiday in Zante, and I couldn't recommend it enough. Firstly, the location was great. It was around a 12-minute taxi journey from the airport to the hotel and a 2-minute walk from the hotel to Laganas Beach. There is also a private entrance to the sea from the hotel steps, which was lovely. The hotel has two pools, which were well maintained and had access to free sunbeds. The one pool had a bar/restaurant, which I highly recommend. The cocktails and food were tasty/well priced. The food menu was large and served breakfast/brunch/lunch, and dinner options. We stayed in a room that slept four, and I believe it was called the apartment suite. There was a large double/king-sized bed and then a single pull-out bed which could sleep two people. The room was spacious and cleaned daily, providing us with fresh towels. The bathroom was on the smaller side, but that wasn't an issue as it was clean and provided us with everything we needed. Lastly, we had a small balcony overlooking the pool, which was nice to sit out on in the evenings. The room had a mini fridge, kettle and a filtered coffee machine. The only downside to the room was that you had to pay per night for the use of the safe and air conditioning (I think the AC was 10 euro per night). The staff were lovely, in particular Jasmine, the receptionist. She was so kind and friendly. Also, Dennis, the barman, was also very kind and made tasty cocktails. Lastly, the ***** was only a 10-minute walk from the hotel, so a good place to stay if you're wanting to party but also get a good night's sleep! Further, there were lots of beachfront restaurants nearby selling an array of Greek/western foods. There was a mini supermarket just a 1 minute walk from the hotel where you could alcohol, water, snacks etc. There was also a baguette shop around the corner, which was about a 3 minute walk and this was great for pack lunches etc. You also could hire cars, mopeds, quad bikes and speedboats from nearby rentals, and there were a handful of places near to the hotel that offered day trips to the shipwreck and caves. We went on one to the wreck and it only cost us €30 per person for a transfer and boat trip which lasted three hours!! Note: as this hotel is near the airport, you can see/hear the planes in the distance coming into land in the daytime, so if plane noises bother you, this probably isn't the hotel for you. I didn't notice it too much, but just a warning:)

In terms of appearance, it was more of an average hotel, the food was good, but they could have more choice, what was best of all was that they had access to the sea directly from the hotel, so we didn't have to go to the beach where it was crowded with sunbeds, they have very nice staff

My boyfriend and I recently came back from zante, it was our best holiday yet. The staff at Denise beach are so lovely and attentive, they really made the holiday. The location is amazing, and the views are unbelievable. The food was lovely, great restaurant, and the breakfast every morning was amazing. We will definitely be coming back next year!!

Well what can I say. The hotel very nice. Rooms were clean shower a bit small but fine. All the staff were AMAZING, friendly and polite and really made our stay enjoyable. Great location right on the beach. Swimming pool and restaurant area clean and tidy. Would highly recommend this hotel and definitely go back Thank you to ALL staff at Denise Beach.

A family run hotel, very friendly staff. Hotel is on both sides of a busy road , but in a quiet area away from the chaos of the *****. I would advise the sea view rooms as the beds on the other side of the road are really hard for my preference. Beer and food expensive, but it is a hotel after all. Very clean. Made the beds and cleaned rooms every day. Clean beach towels provided free and sun beds are free too. No rushing to claim your sunned at 6am. Would return to this hotel but book a sea view room.

Great location far enough away from the *****. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Pool area over looking the sea was lovely. Our room was the same side as the reception, it was a little tired and could be so much better with a refresh and update. The biggest let down for us were the half board meals, which were disappointing. We ended up eating out in the evening.

When we arrived at our hotel, we realised the hotel is two separate buildings with a small but busy road between. Our flight was too early for check in so we headed to the hotels swimming pool. Once our room was ready we headed up to our room. As two couples we were shocked to see our apartment was like a glorified hostel and looked NOTHING like the photos. As we walked into the room, we were presented with a poor attempt of a kitchenette, a tiny bathroom and two sofa beds. You then walk through into the main bedroom (with no dividing door and paper thin walls) with a double bed and then onto the balcony which was equally as tiny. The balcony only had two chairs and could only comfortably accommodate two adults, for a four person room. The bathroom’s design was impractical, with a shower curtain which didn’t retain any water, meaning the bathroom floor ended up like a swimming pool. We stayed for a week and our room was cleaned once or twice. Some days our toilet bin was not emptied. I don’t need to explain why this is unacceptable for Greece. The cleaners often did not provide new toilet rolls either. The facilities are poor, not enough storage for the number of individuals, they claim they can accommodate. You have to pay extra to use the rooms safe. Air-con is included with some rooms but not others, which she tried to charge us for until her colleague stopped her. After feeling unimpressed with our room after saying how nice and large the photos looked online, we decided to speak to the lady at reception who checked us in. She was adamant no larger / different style rooms even existed in their hotel - this clearly was not true. She did however offer to provide a thin double mattress topper for the two sofa beds. After deciding there was nothing we could change we left it at that. We found the main lady at reception became instantly very hostile and defensive after realising the room was not adequate for us, which continued for the rest of our trip, including at checkout. Even to the point of greeting other guests in front of us with morning and completely blanking us. Some positives of this hotel however, the location is around 20 minutes from the airport and close to a lot of amenities. Their à la cart restaurant “Cielo Kitchen-Bar-Cafe” is very nice and serves nice food. The hotel overall is adequate if we paid half of what we did and this would be a completely different review. They have tried to publish their best rooms in the hope to get as many bookings as they can. When we originally booked this hotel the reviews were positive, however looking back I am seeing similar experiences more recently in the months of June/July 2023.

all the staff excellent, especially mr tatzyky sauce , also the chelona at the reception then mrs jasmine and the waitress always with a smile. the only criticism I can make is that you could not reach 14 degrees on the air conditioner, otherwise I found myself very well

Lovely hotel but the women on reception with the dog is rude and un-accommodating. Spoke to us like children and had no social etiquette at all. Rolled her eyes and shook her head when asked for more towels as the cleaners took them and didn’t replace. Wouldn’t return just because of her.
