Reviews of Wellness Hotel Alpenhof

This hotel was by far the most comfortable I stayed at during my trip to Switzerland. It's small yet exquisite, located about a 6-7 minute walk from the train station. If you arrange it in advance, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service. It's also an 11-minute walk to the Murini viewpoint. They provide free afternoon tea, and the mini-bar is also complimentary. The breakfast spread is quite varied, and they have à la carte hot dishes too; we ordered eggs and waffles for around 20 Swiss francs.

Complimentary transport pick up from train station. Very good breakfast. Nice jacuzzi & indoor pool.

This hotel is highly recommended, with a good location, clean and comfortable, and very cost-effective.

1. Location - It's about a 7-minute walk from the station, so you'll need to take a detour, but Zermatt itself is quite small, so getting around isn't difficult (pickup is available upon request). - The Golden Horn Point is about a minute away, making it a great place to watch the sunrise in the morning. - The Matterhorn can be seen from your room's veranda, making it a great place to check the weather. 2. Facilities - First of all, this is a very high-end hotel, so the facilities are generally good. - The minibar is free, so you don't need to purchase water or other drinks separately. - There's also a sauna and swimming pool, but I didn't use them. - Each room has a backpack available for use, which you can purchase. - Electric bikes are available for free rental. - There's air conditioning (controlled by the TV) and a smart TV with mirroring, so it works well. 3. Breakfast - Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM, and you can dine in the first-floor restaurant. - The breakfast selection is extensive, and the food is delicious. - Pancakes and waffles used to be free, but now they seem to be charged (8-12 francs). - Upon arrival, you can choose your drink of choice. (coffee, etc.) - If you can't eat breakfast, they'll prepare a packed lunch upon request. 4. Other - The staff is very friendly and the housekeeping is excellent. - Upon check-out, they'll provide a car to the station upon request. - Since the reception opens at 7:00 AM, if you check out before then, you can pay your taxes in advance.

I absolutely love this hotel. It's small and exquisite, and I felt right at home from the moment I walked in until they dropped us off at the train station. The hotel design is also unique, and the restaurant's service and food are first-rate. The location is just steps from the cable car. The attention to detail is incredible. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Zermatt.

Facilities: 2384 yuan for a loft room, not cost-effective. The skylight switch is broken. It can't be closed after opening. The sunshade curtain takes a long time to close a little bit. The hotel is a 4-star hotel, owned by the Julen family, which has four hotels and three restaurants in Zermatt. A piece of lambskin is provided on the outdoor chairs. The hotel has hot springs and saunas, but you have to go naked. I have never enjoyed men and women bathing and sauna together in Japan, but I have enjoyed it in Switzerland. I would feel embarrassed if I didn't go naked because everyone else was naked. The hotel's breakfast is very rich. You can squeeze orange juice yourself, and there are many kinds of dried meat, cheese and butter to choose from. You can also order omelets, fried eggs, waffles, etc. The boiled eggs are also cooked just right, and the yolk is runny. Be sure to drink Swiss milk and ask the waiter to provide hot milk, which is very fresh and rich in milk fragrance.

Two points about this hotel. 1. The hotel is clearly called Alpenhof Hotel (see Figure 1 and Figure 2), but the Ctrip platform insists on calling it wellness hotel alpenhof, which made me unable to find the wellness hotel on Google Maps and I had to run back and forth between the two railway stations. Please see Figure 5 for the most accurate Google map name of Ctrip. 2. When I checked in, the hotel gave me a corner room with a sloping roof. The area is probably not smaller but the volume is definitely smaller. I felt depressed when I entered this room. Let's take a look at the page display when booking (Figure 4). Later, Ctrip coordinated to change it to a normal room. It's really bad to give a corner room when there is a room. There are thousands of hotels in Zermatt. I will not come here in the future. It's too bullying.
