We had an absolutely wonderful stay. Room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Very near the zermatt train station, just opposite of Macdonald’s. Breakfast had a good selection. Housekeeping would check in on you and offer free chocolates. The only feedback I have is the room didn’t provide English instructions on how to dial the concierge so I had to walk down to request for items.

It is the best hotel in Switzerland in 8 days. The worst hotel I used to stay in before was 4 stars of 2800 yuan, basically all 5 stars. The facilities are new and the new hotel is more in my style. The service is in place, reflecting the high level of Swiss hotel service industry. The rooms are not large or small, just right, the toilets are a bit small, and the toiletries are a well-known British brand. Because the owner of the hotel loves whiskeys, there is a cabinet for whiskeys in the lobby. Whiskey in the room can be drunk for free, which is a waste for me who does not drink. The breakfast is not many, but it is very exquisite and you can eat it well. Self-driving is not allowed here, there are shuttle buses to the train station, you need to call in advance to book. Several attractions are close. The hotel swimming pool is also good, although not large, you can swim and watch the mountain view. I will definitely choose here next time. Price is also good.

I returned from four days and three nights at the Beausite Zermatt, and it was really wonderful. The staff was accommodating and made sure I had a wonderful stay. I was picked up at the train station and booked a junior suite with a great view of the Matterhorn. I loved my wooden soaking up in the bathroom (in addition to the oversized shower), and the bed was super comfy. I had plenty of time at the end of the day to enjoy the spa, outdoor pool, and sauna with views of Zermatt. The breakfast buffet was delicious, not to mention my meals, I had dinner at The Grill with friends who were also in town, and my last meal was at the charming Witch'eese fondue hut; it was just us three inside and super cozy. I look forward to coming back next time I am in town.

We were here with Tauck Tours. There were 24 in our group and we all stayed across the way in condo's. We had 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, fireplace, 2 patio's. Everything was amazing. Fully stocked. We were here for two nights. Housekeeping was excellent. The only con, the shower stall was small. Huge bathroom small stall. The breakfasts were excellent, something for everyone buffet style. The dinner in their restaurant was 5 stars to die for. If staying in Zermatt, this is the place to stay! Beautiful bar are, sitting area as well.

This hotel is the best one in my 12-day trip in Switzerland. The details of the hotel are very good. The minibar in the room is free, there is beer bubble water, etc. The room is large and can be used for extra beds. There are some hot foods outside, which are included in the room rate. It is a very careful hotel. There are many things to send, chocolate, special drinks, sweets, etc. Many details can reflect that this is a high-powered hotel, although the hotel is Half-mountain, but it does not affect travel at all. There is a hotel bus transfer to and from the train station, and the hotel has a direct elevator to the foot of the mountain. The elevator is the entrance to the rothorn, very good!

Great hotel Don’t expect luxury but given the price point you know this already The rooms are small but functional with everything you need for your stay including a great coffee machine that’s topped up daily. Breakfast is well beyond what I was expecting and had cereals, meats, yoghurts, breads, cheeses, sausages, eggs and probably much more! Plus more really good coffee! Located 5 minutes walk to Bayard ski rental, and an additional 1 minute to the Gornergrat railway taking you up onto the slopes From the hotel, you can be on the train in under 10 minutes. Staff are really helpful and allowed us to keep our bags there on the last day even though we’d checked out. There’s a quick lift to all floors. I would highly recommend the hotel if your plans are to ski all day, go out on an evening and use it as a place to sleep. Would certainly return

This hotel is an easy 5 minute walk to the train station. Check-in was welcoming and the room was fine. It is spacious enough with plenty of closet space. Comfortable bed, good shower and bathroom amenities. We liked having a little fridge and Nespresso type coffee maker. Breakfast was excellent with many hot and cold options. I ate much too much! In the afternoon they offer coffee and homemade cake in the lobby. An English language chanel on the room TV would have been nice. The hotel has a pool and a sauna which we did not have a chance to use.

In addition to the location and facility, the staff were AWESOME. We found ourselves without a room IN Zermatt (through a reservation mistake at another hotel) and Patricia was able to locate a room that was not going to be used for our nights there due to a real-time cancelation just as we walked in. She worked diligently to secure the room for us. The rest of the staff were also extremely helpful regarding some special needs we had. The included breakfast was delicious and Alpine samplings everywhere. We dined in the restaurant in the hotel and the selections were delicious, and the service very good. Great building with character that is close to everything, but most of all the people made us feel at home, far from south Alabama. If we get the opportunity to return to Zermatt, we'll most definitely be staying here again.

The hotel is clean and the breakfast is delicious. It was nice to see the Matterhorn right from the room. The spa facilities are good, so it's good to warm up after trekking. The staff aren't unfriendly, they're not friendly, but they do everything if you ask for it. I like the spa, so I want to come again with my parents next time. Have a good rest for 3 nights.

We arrived in Zermatt on Christmas day with three rooms reserved. We walked from the train station and were ahead of check in time, but two rooms were available already. After a fantastic lunch across the street we all settled in. Hotel Testa Grigia was the perfect place for me and my adult children. There is a great breakfast including meats and cheeses, yogurt, croissants cereal etc. They don't have a restaurant for lunch or dinner or a bar, but being in the center of town we were able to experience a variety of places in Zermatt by walking. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Always willing to help in any way. There is a ski storage room and a rental place right next door. We were there for New Year's Eve and all rooms got a bottle of champagne and glasses. We had to leave early in the morning for the train back to Zurich and the hotel provided full meal bags for breakfast for all of us the night before we left. I left my eyeglasses in the room and the hotel is mailing them back to me! This is not a fancy hotel with all the amenities, but with large spacious rooms with balconies, very nice modern bathrooms and beautiful views of the mountains I couldn't have been happier with our stay at Hotel Testa Grigia.

Pleasantly surprised by how big the room was! A rarity in Switzerland for sure. Modern furnishings a plus! Lovely surprise balcony with a sideways view of the town, nice to sit outside to unwind at the end of the long day. Bathroom was rather lacking in character compared to the room and bath tub/screen was quite inconvenient. But basic amenities are there, two sinks + separate WC were appreciated. Breakfast was average, adequate but not great spread. No swimming pool, bare gym, uninspiring suana area for a 4* hotel so manage your expectations accordingly. Location very close to train station (5 mins), off a quiet corner, complimentary luggage shuttle would be nice instead of charging CHF12 for what is literally a 1 minute ride in a buggy.

Lovely stay! Got the matterhorn view suite and it was so beautiful! The receptionist was also very helpful with guiding us with what we can do at Zermatt! However, need to take note that their reception will only be there till 10pm. It’s actually stated but I didn’t read it so when I arrived Zermatt train station at 11pm, I panicked a little. We flag down the taxi at my own cost, 18chf for 3 people and luggages, they dont provide free taxi after 10pm. Also, the entrance door will be closed/locked after 10pm, we rang the bell and the door opened and they left the key with a letter on the counter for the check in. The breakfast place is also overlooking the Matterhorn and it’s so pretty. Stayed for only 1 night but really enjoyed my stay there!

During 2 nights we stayed at the Hotel Ambassador. The hotel is centrally located - a few steps from the train station. Ideal ! Makes a good, maintained impression from outside. The room is very beautiful and consistently furnished. The mattresses are very comfortable and comfortable. Here everything has been fit. Breakfast buffet was rich. Something in this regard for every taste....The staff was aware and emigrant - but something overburdened with cleaning, discovering, filling up buffet and giving information. Fairly, you must say that people were also somewhat untolerant. The Wermut Tropps when checking in: nice reception - official language English ! No word German. I personally find this a tribute to people who may not understand and express themselves so well with the English language. Zermatt International goes or goes. In the many shops, restaurants and shops in the village, it is best working with German and/or dialect. I am Swiss and I want to understand myself as Swiss in Switzerland as well...

I decided to come to the Kulm 3100 as a special treat while returning after 24 years for a visit from Canada. I had been to Zermatt a few times before in the 90’s when I had lived in Switzerland. This visit was beyond my expectations. It was a stunning, breathtaking experience. I paid the extra for a room with the view of the Matterhorn and glad I did. My room was a little small (normal for European standards), but modern and tastefully decorated. Each room was named after one of the mountains over 4000 meters in the area. A description and story of the dedicated mountain was posted in the room. Dinner and breakfast which was included in the price was beautifully presented and each course delicious. The waiter that served me was friendly and attentive. He went out of his way to give me a generous ice pack for my cooler of snacks on my departure. I awoke early in the morning to see the sun rising over the alps which was a breathtaking experience. Such peacefulness in the vast nature of the alps and the feeling of being on top of the world was truly magical. The newly built “Zoom” building which was nearby was an added treat which was included with the hotel. The virtual experience flying around the Matterhorn was epic. I was truly grateful and glad to have had this wonderful experience of a lifetime.

The best location I found after staying. 20 meters to the Japanese Bridge. From the Japanese bridge, you can aim for the best shot of the Matterhorn. The hotel is right in front of the cemetery, but there is no darkness in the cemetery. The church, Kirchplatz and the Marmot fountain are also nearby. In the square, the horn performance starts at 6pm. I also encountered a procession of goats. It is about 10 minutes on foot from the station. Opposite the diagonal is the Zermatterhof, a 5-star hotel, and there is a two-carriage transfer to the station. The transfer here is 5 euros per person, but it is not necessary if the luggage is not too big. The inn is very clean with bedding. I was able to sleep well. The breakfast is also gorgeous and delicious. The staff are friendly and will hear your request.

I relied on *********** in selecting Matterhorn Lodge Hotel and Apartments for my four night stay. Communication was excellent for my potential late arrival by train from Frankfurt Airport. I arrived shortly after 21:00 and Ruth greeted me. We briefly discussed procedures for the stay and moved on to plans for the next day. She provided with a comprehensive trail, train, tram, chairlift, and gondola map. I told her I was interested in one route on my second day that involved somewhat higher elevation. She provided me with a suggestion for acclimation to altitude and loosening up for day one. The maps she provided were self explanatory and the main resource I needed. My room was stylish, clean, well furnished, quiet, and easily one of my best lodging experiences in 15 years and 54 overseas trips. The morning breakfast that was part of the package was well prepared and included a range of food options. The lodging was centrally located and convenient to the main train station and the many shops and restaurants on the main streets of Zermatt. I enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff and would look to see if there was space available for any future stays in Zermatt.

We booked 4 nights in this hotel, we really enjoyed our stay...our room has a balcony with a perfect Matterhorn view. The hotel is conveniently located from the train station, main shopping, grocery store, and all the attractions. It's a small hotel but very quiet which is what we like. We were not residents, merely walk in customers to the restaurant (like most). Although we didn't know it, we had a trainee serve us, who didn't give us the full wine list, didn't advise us that certain meals take longer to cook etc. So, after no lunch and feeling very hungry, we had to wait nearly an hour - and only after several complaints - received any food. We did not realise that a starter salad was included in the price and was not served to us. It wasn't cheap yet the portions were not large and after more complaints was implied that it was OUR fault as we had not asked for any detail about the meal (we are used to wait staff supplying the information). I would suggest avoiding this restaurant - there are many more in Zermatt - and which would offer a much better customer service. We ended up with large bill, not full stomachs and a regrettable and sad evening and experience. Go somewhere else.

This hotel is too fond of it! The decoration of the hotel is very beautiful and the room can see the snowy mountains! The service staff was very good at night. It was like waiting for us to call out my name. I also prepared wine and tea as a welcome drink. Breakfast is delicious, although there are not many types, but the whole environment will make you enjoy it. I will book it next time and ask the front desk to tell you all kinds of information. Getting a room in Zermatt during the peak winter season is quite challenging without committing to a certain minimum number of room nights. We were fortunate to book a room at Hotel Derby for one night, which fits our tight travel schedule. Several things we loved about this hotel: 1. The location - It is easily accessible on foot and situated along a busy street, only a minute's walk from Zermatt train station. 2. The guest rooms - They are recently renovated and beautifully furnished. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the peak of Matterhorn. Unfortunately, it was too cold in December that we didn't get to enjoy ourselves or stay out for long. 3. The breakfast - A wide selection of continental breakfast and it is included in the room rate. Even though it was a short stay for us, on the whole, the staff is amiable, and we highly recommend it.

This hotel is the best one in my 12-day trip in Switzerland. The details of the hotel are very good. My friends and I visited Zermatt for the first time ever, in October 2023. We took 2 mountain-view rooms and were extremely glad that we did! After we arrived at the Zermatt train station, we decided to walk to the hotel on our own because the weather was beautiful, warm and sunny. Guests can opt for transport by an electric vehicle, which costs CHF15 per person, from the train station directly to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel after 10 minutes, walking to this hotel isn't too difficult, as long as your luggage has wheels. The roads are well-paved, you just need to watch out for cyclists and the electric vehicles speeding around the town. This hotel requires guests to check-in on their website, they send you a link via email, a few days prior to your visit here, so you that you can do a pre check-in even before you arrive. I didn't do that, so I did my check-in on the spot in front of the reception counter and was guided step-by-step by the friendly staff. Our rooms were ready, it was around 1pm. The rooms are very clean, has all the amenities of a 4-star hotel, including bathrobes and bedroom slippers, digital safe, hairdryer, coffee machine and basic toiletries. This hotel has a pillow menu, I went to the front desk to get a memory foam latex pillow for myself because I found the down pillows too soft. The room temperature was very comfortable, the rooms are heated by a central heating system, which is controlled by the hotel staff. There are no individual thermostats in the rooms. Our room balconies had unobstructed views of the Matterhorn mountain, the most recognisable mountain in Europe. This was worth every extra penny that we paid for the mountain-view rooms! IMPORTANT NOTE: Not every hotel room in any hotel in Zermatt has unobstructed views of the Matterhorn. If you are a first-time visitor to Zermatt, I recommend that you spend the extra money and get yourself a mountain-view room. This hotel is located away from the main street of Zermatt town, therefore it is very quiet and serene. At the same time, it is within walking distance to the main street, the GornergratBahn railway station, the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise gondola station, to the Matterhorn Museum, and to several excellent restaurants in Zermatt. You can ask the front desk staff for a walking map of Zermatt when you check into this hotel, I asked Christina for advise and restaurant recommendations, and she was most helpful. She gave me 2 maps of Zermatt, one map shows the tourists attractions and the other shows the restaurants. My friends and I dined at the Spycher restaurant, which is connected to this hotel, they serve AMAZING flambe beef and lamb! Our rooms included complimentary breakfast and it was good but not spectacular. You can have pancakes, omelettes and sunny-side eggs cooked to order.
