Nice place to stay in Zhangye but wouldn’t really consider it a hostel, more of a hotel with a small seating area in the lobby. The rooms are big and clean and was a comfortable place to stay. Unfortunately there is no place to heat up food which you would expect of a “hostel”. You guys should get a microwave. Other than that it’s a nice place right by the south entrance to the wetland park and a 15 min cycle to the city centre.

Clean hotel with big rooms, but a bit far away from th city center. You can use the washing machine for 6 RMB, but no dryer. A good noodle restaurant nearby, simple but ok Chinese breakfast.

This hostel is more like a hotel. The room I had was really big, with a bathroom and kitchenette and two bunk beds; I was the only guest. It felt very luxurious. Xixia is a short walk, about 15 minutes, from the Drum Tower and it's very close to the Zhangye Wetland Park, a great place to ride a bike or go for a walk.

The Zhangye Hotel we stopped by on our trip to Gansu Province
Value for money is really good. Accommodation is also great for the price.
Breakfast is served in a room on the 4th floor of the hotel, but it is very poor. Chinese people also brought ramen and ate it, but I intend to revisit as a cost-effective youth hostel.
