I recently stayed at Gu Lai Xi Hotel @ 鎭远古镇and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, clearly reflecting the hotel’s recent renovation (just a year ago). Everything felt fresh, clean, and thoughtfully designed for comfort.
What truly made my stay special, however, was the exceptional hospitality of the owners. They were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. Whether it was providing local tips or assisting with any requests, their warmth made me feel right at home.
The location is perfect - quiet and peaceful, yet conveniently close to Zhen Yuan’s key attractions. I loved how easy it was to explore the nearby landmarks without being in a noisy tourist area.
Overall, Gu Lai Xi offers great value - excellent facilities, superb service, and an ideal location. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting 鎭远古镇

The room was well-laid out and very spacious, with a completely separate bathroom and shower. A highlight was the balcony facing Zhusheng Bridge, especially beautiful at night, where you could sit on the lounge chair and quietly enjoy the dazzling lights of Zhenyuan Ancient Town. Another commendable point was that when I forgot to return my room key upon check-out, I contacted the guesthouse to offer to mail it back. The owner was very kind and helpful, saying it was no trouble at all and they would just send a replacement. Thumbs up! 👍🏻

The guesthouse directed us to a parking lot in front of a row of unfinished buildings, and then arranged for someone to pick us up in a tricycle and take us to the guesthouse. The area where this guesthouse is located is full of guesthouses; all the lake-facing rooms have the same view, but the prices vary greatly, mainly differing in the age of the renovations.
